Despite doubts from some, a notable proportion of people actively embraced and adopted consumerism.

Despite expressing opposition to consumerism and materialism, it is true that most, if not all of us, are deeply engaged in them. Yet, this involvement doesn't necessarily carry negative implications. The writer argues that the pursuit of materialistic goals leads to happiness because possessions have the power to bring joy into people's lives. There is nothing inherently wrong with seeking happiness. We devote ourselves to studying, working, and earning money to satisfy our own desires as well as those of our families, even if these desires revolve around material things.
