Also, this can represent Innocence as she steps on it without knowing that It was a wasp nest, If she knew It would not have happened.

And another way that It represents innocence is that she was outside alone. This indicates that she does not know about the dangers outside. All of this represents the theme of innocence. This can be seen as well in The Flowers by the way that Mop is skipping around in summer Into the forest alone.

"Today she made her own path, bouncing this way and that way.

This shows that she does not know that you could get lost easily in the forest especially if you are going around in random directions. While Mop is skipping she cares about nothing else but a tune she likes. "And nothing

existed for her but her song" This shows that she does not know that she could trip on anything If she does pay attention, representing the theme of innocence as well. The theme of 'maturity is seen by There's as she learns the truth of the world. "There's yawned before rolling onto one side and up.

Just below her nipples. This shows us that she Is going Into puberty and Is attempting to attract boys by wearing sexual looting.

Also this shows us that she does not know about the dangers of the world such as kidnappers. The phrase "An old vest which I'd cropped" tells us that she is learning to knit as was able to make the vest into the size she had wanted. This Innocence later goes away when she finds the body and realizes how dangerous the world actually is. Mop is also maturing when she "began to circle back to the house. Back to the peacefulness of the morning" This shows that she like to stay in her house because it is peaceful and she does not want to learn anything.

That all hanged "When she saw his naked grin that she gave a little yelp of surprise. " This shows us that she learns that her foot was not stuck on a branch but In a skull. She then gets scared and yelps. At the end of the story, Beeline and her siblings "Stepped back out into the sunlight of the garden. " The dark hallways represent the dangers and truth of the world while the sunlight and garden represents Innocence and safety.

This shows us that Beeline Is trying to unlearn what she has discovered and trying to become innocent once again.

The same thing is happening with There's OFF crying from a nightmare that she had about the arm growing up and out of the ground. But now she is holding onto Beeline's leg showing that she is once again innocent and doesn't

know what to do anymore. She cannot protect herself and goes to Beeline for protection. These two stories mainly use the characters for the theme innocence and maturity.

Even though the two stories are written by two different authors, they both have utilized the characters action, personality and thought to represent their themes which were what made these successful.
