The Hitler Youth and Charles Manson and the Manson Family are very similar in the fact that they both used a form of indoctrination and brainwashing to recruit members into their organization/cult.They both were prejudice against other racial groups/people different from them. However, the Hitler Youth and Charles Manson & the Manson Family are different because Hitler dictated under supremacy of National Socialism and made his followers believe that his way is the only and right way while Charles Manson used mental and physical control to get and use his "family". As far as racial barriers go, the Hitler Youth and Charles Manson are very similar.
They both had psychological disorders t
...hat may have led to their paranoia and anxiety and overall ludicrous thoughts and behavior and their successful manipulation of others, shared the swastika symbol, and were going to commit heinous acts that they tried to blame on other racial groups/people different than them. To begin with, the Hitler Youth and Charles Manson and the Manson Family both had psychological disorders. “Serial killer Charles Manson had a severe case of anti-social personality disorder.Manson was diagnosed as having moderate to severe psychosis subject to psychotic breaks” (Manson 1). “Many of Hitler's behaviors are potentially symptomatic of an array of psychological disorders, including certain anxiety, mood, personality, psychotic, and developmental disorders” (Gehlem and Gregory 48-53).
These examples prove that Charles Manson and Hitler both had mental disorders. It is most evident that bot
had psychological disorders that could have caused their irregular thoughts and behavior, especially the manipulation and persuasion of others. In addition, Charles Manson and the Manson Family and the Hitler Youth, both shared a relationship to the swastika symbol. Manson came into court one day with an "X" (swastika symbol) carved into his forehead, and the next day they all had X's on their foreheads" (Watson 38). This quote shows that Charles Manson and the Manson Family had took an "interest" in the swastika symbol.Likewise when the Hitler Youth members had to take their oaths, a blood banner (flag) was present which was a Nazi Swastika flag. In other words, both of the cults shared a connection to the swastika symbol.

"During the trial period, each boy and girl had to pass a written examination to make sure they had mastered Nazi ideas about race and politics. They also had to prove their racial background...
Only healthy boys and girls of proven "Aryan" descent were permitted to join" (Bartoletti 25). This distinguishes the two.In addition, the Hitler Youth dictated under the order of National Socialism to its members and motivated and indoctrinated its members. "And you are destined to be the leaders of a glorious new order under the supremacy of National Socialism. Never forget that one day you will rule the world" (Gehlem and Gregory 48-53). "More than just a military organization, the "Hitler Youth" indoctrinated boys aged 10 to 18 in all aspects of Nazi ideology" (Gehlem and Gregory 48-53).
This quote shows how the Hitler Youth dictated, motivated, and indoctrinated its members through politics and government, different then Manson. Yet, Charles Manson's "family" was comprised mostly with young female followers. Thus, contrasting the two in this matter. Lastly, Charles Manson used different types of methods to control/brainwash his family (followers). "Manson established complete control over his followers, using a combination of violence, intimidation, sex, and his powerful charisma" (Manson 1).
So he mesmerizes these young kids and tells them things they can identify with-about the
need for the preservation of wildlife, that there's pollution of the environment by big corporations, that the poor man's fighting the rich man's war in Vietnam... He convinces them he's the second coming of Christ and the devil all wrapped up into one person, and ultimately, as you know, he gets them to kill for him" (Watson 38).
This quote proves Manson's different methods of brainwashing/controlling his followers and how he gets and convinces his followers.
