Originated around 1900 by people in the United States and West Europe. Tin Pan Alley was famous for composers and songwriters, but after WWII, recorded music became really popular. English is the most popular language for songwriters to sing in. Hip-Hop becomes popular and it demonstrates the interplay between globalization and local diversity. On one hand, Hip-Hop is a return to a very local firm of music expression rather than a form that is studio manufactured. Lyrics make local reference and represent a distinctive hometown scene. Also, Hip-Hop has diffused rapidly around the world through instruments of globalization: the music is broadcast online and sold through web marketing.
