Compact bones and spongy bones are both made-up of bone tissue, but compact bones has osteon that are tube-like structures that fit one into the other and make compact bones dense and heavy. Spongy bones has trabeculae, which are like dried up coal reef and disburse the weight due to gravity and resist failure.

Skeletal- under voluntary control of the nervous system. On a tissue slide, there is a banding pattern called striations. Cardiac- under involuntary control of the nervous system. On a tissue slide, the are intercalating disks. Smooth- under involuntary control of the nervous system. Contractions are slow to start, but last longer.
