The encounter of acute low back pain is mostly in the practice of primary care but most often the cause is not identified. A patient with low back pain without injury is considered to have acute nonspecific without signs in neurology. The pain can be because of disorders in simple soft tissue like the strain of a muscle or ligament or as a result of a serious medical disorder in the body spine, retroperitoneal or parameningeal regions. The pain may not be related to significant pathology on magnetic resonance imaging, MRI(Wheeler,et el, 2015). Conservative management in acute low back patients can improve the condition without immediate diagnostic studies.

Heavy lifting or activities aggravating the pain should be avoided although bed rest is discouraged since it delays the recovery period. Bed rest is only recommended in case the patient has severe pain

and movement intensifies the pain. Anti-inflammatory drugs may be given to the patients like aspirin but in case of muscle spasm, the patient should have muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine (Steffens,et el, 2015). The use of narcotic analgesia is discouraged unless the patient has severe acute pain. Treating the disorder through physical therapy and chiropractic spinal manipulation only provides short-term benefits by improving the satisfaction of the patient(Chou, 2014). However, it does not decrease the recurrence of the back pain rather, it increases the cost of medical care.

The cause of nonspecific back pain is thought to be a sprain of a muscle like an over-stretch. The patients are advised to carry on their normal activities unless it causes a lot of pain. Regular intake of painkillers should be practiced to facilitate exercises and ease of the
