In William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a romantic play filled with desire, envy, and revenge, the main characters include Theseus, the king of Athens, and his fiance Hippolyta, the queen of Amazon. Lysander is an Athenian man who deeply loves Hermia, Egeus' daughter. Hermia reciprocates his love but Demetrius also desires to marry her. Helena, Hermia's close friend, still harbors infatuation for Demetrius. Oberon and Titania serve as the rulers of the magical world in their roles as king and queen of fairies respectively. Puck or Robin Goodfellow acts mischievously as a fairy who creates love potions for Oberon. Lastly, there is Nick Bottom whose head gets transformed into that of a donkey due to his foolishness. The play takes place in both Athens and the forest during ancient Greece.
There are three conflicts in the story: Lysander and Demetrius competing for Hermia's

aThe issue arises when Oberon wants to knight the Indian prince, but Titania opposes it. The main events involve Oberon witnessing the love triangle troubles between Lysander, Hermia, Helena, and Demetrius. This prompts Oberon to send Puck to apply love potions and powders on Demetrius's eyelids so that he would fall in love with the first person he saw, which was supposed
to be Helena. However, Puck mistakenly applies them to Lysander instead of Demetrius. Consequently, both Lysander and Demetrius end up falling in love with Helena. Oberon also seeks revenge for Titania by instructing Puck to use the love potion on her. This causes Titania to fall in love with Nick Bottom. Eventually, Puck corrects his mistake with the love potion causing Demetrius to fall in love with Helena and Hermia to fall in love with Lysander. The spell between Nick Bottom and Hippolyta is also broken. Additionally, conflicts between Oberon and Hippolyta are resolved when the Indian boy is knighted. Theseus and Hippolyta get married as a happy ending along with Hermia marrying Lysander and Demetrius marrying Helena
