In King Lear many may discuss the fact that one of his three daughters Cornelia is the only one that he loved but others may say he loved all his children. As one go through the play by the dialogue between Cornelia and the King they express each others love for one another often.
They really understand each other and converse generally their love. By the end of the play one can see that Cornelia is the one he truly loves and she truly loves him as well. On the other hand another form of love that is shown in the play is loyalty.
You would think hat after a person is treated badly by another, that person will stop loving and become mean and hateful. But both the Earl of Kent and Edgar, son of Glister
...did not do so. After being pushed away, both remain loyal and had respect in their most own way towards their loved ones.
Earl of Kent was shunned away by the king and while Edgar son of Glister was shunned away his own father, both abandoned and left behind, but keep their respect one who shunned them. In this case Earl loved the king still after being shunned by him he uses his skills to protect the king.
Knowing what was done to him y the King; no matter what Earl continue to be loyal to his king. As well as Edgar son of Glister using his ability to protect his father knowing that he was undesirable by his father, continue to love and respect.
Furthermore there is also love for power and material things so grea
that it leads to death. This type of love follows so deep throughout the play it becomes the major part of it. That very same love was a part of the king, two of his daughters and some of the other noble figures death. Being that can love can kill this many people shows how much power it holds.
To have that much desire to want something that bad can even kill you is a big issue.
People can talk all day about what love actually is and if its true love or not, due to the fact that there are so many different form of it and can be defined differently. Love can be displayed in so many ways even in death as you can see in the play King Lear. Love is the most dangerous topic to bring up with anyone and will or can have everyone feeling a way with their own opinion. These are only some of the types of love being displayed; imagine what else is out there.
