Destructive Driving Issue
Destructive driving is consistently ranked as the main issue in the traffic safety. Distraction is the key to destructive driving. Distraction in driving is considered as one of the deadliest behavior in driving. Over the years is has been the cause of many deaths in road accidents. The way a driver reacts to a distraction matters a lot.
A typology of the driver on the pattern in which they respond to the distraction classifies them as either distraction-averse drivers or distraction-prone drivers. A typology of the driver on the pattern in which they respond to the distraction classifies them as either distraction-averse drivers or distraction-prone drivers. 67% of the respondents were classified to be distraction-averse while 33% were distraction-prone. The biggest number of the distraction-prone drivers was found to be the young people. More than half of the number of drivers with 35 and below years of age was easily distracted unlike a small percentage of 5% of the older people above 65 years. Regarding monthly earning, most of the individuals who are making more than $ 100,000 were found to be among the drivers who are classified as distraction-prone unlike those with small salaries a month. In terms of the level of technical training, one-quarter
of those without any taught driving skills were ranked as the distraction-prone drivers compared to drivers who have attained driving expertise in colleges. There was a little variation depending on the type of care the driver is driving.
Many of broadcasted distractions were reported to be phone related. At least Ninety-nine percent of the respondents were said to possess cell phones. Around Ninety-three of the interviewees who are reported to be driving every day stated that they own a mobile phone. Many respondents stressed on the issue as the main distractor when driving. During the interviews, a handful of the drivers cited that there are calls they could neither reject nor ignore avoid even when taking the wheel. According to many of them, this is stated to be a major concern since they are aware of how dangerous it is and how destructive it can be when driving.
Another major distraction when driving is eating or drinking. Plenty of the drivers who responded reported to be eating and drinking when driving. They stated that they continued to eat and drink to the end when still driving. Sixty-eight percent said that they were careful when doing it and they made sure that the eating didn't distract their driving while Thirty-two percent reported that they were distracted at least one or two times.
Other occupants of the car are also another distraction when driving. Friends were found to be making a terrible company for five percent of the distraction-prone drivers. Few stated that they could avoid the distraction and tell their friends that they need to concentrate fast while many indicated that they participated in the conversations rose. Many accidents
are reported to be associated to distraction by a friend. Eighty percent of the respondents have reported having heard many cases of accidents due to such distraction. This is why many say that it is a behavior that they should work on.

Other drivers on the road feel not secure with other drivers since they fear they could be victims of distraction. This is according to the report of Ninety percent of the respondents who states they encounter many drivers on the road distracted; either talking on a phone, eating and conversing with friends.
