Women and Gender Equity

The women and gender equity (WGE) is a non –profit non-governmental organization. It is aimed at eliminating gender imbalance specifically elimination of women discrimination.

The target population is specifically and major the women living in poverty stricken rural areas. These are part of gender based discrimination as well as gender based violence institution to be majorly involved include the religious the religious institutions which include churches, learning institutions, local community setting and the political leadership in a region. The above mentioned institution control several key persons who are directly affected with gender based discrimination or the gender based violence. The major participants of the women and gender equity (WGE) with include female students who have suffered from any kind of gender based discrimination not excluding the leading women activists in the country. Some of activities our members or participants will be involved in will include publishing a blog weekly in our website rotating to gender discrimination affecting women in our country (Outshoorn, 2005). We will also be visiting learning institutions relating awareness among students on female gender based discriminations.

Holding out door complains will also be in our list of activities to create a wide speed awareness to women’s especially in those in rural remote areas of the country. Students will have an opportunity to contribute to our weekly blog which will be published in our website concerning women gender based discrimination. Students will also compose the major part of the members of our organization (Outshoorn, 2005). Students will suggest the major activities to be carried out by the organization in its way to accomplish its goals.

Students will also be involved in distributing files and also the

part in education Campaigns. Via the use of internet social media the WGE organization will join hands with other national and international activists and relevant organization such as IAW to turn up for the mission. In addition social media which will include face book, twitter, Instagram and other services widely be used to create awareness of our activities, goals and vision. Print media and media radio and television will be involved in publicity of our organization WGE. The proposed changes will considerable minimize gender imbalance. This will be harmony changing the why a particular gender view the other.

For instance men will be together based discrimination as their fellow human being rights and opportunities this will be done though intensive campaigns to be carried out by our organization. Another change expected from our activities will be reduced gender based violence. As stated earlier through intensive creation of awareness among the highly affected area the change will be noticeable. Resistance from religions, community and some political leaders might be encountered. Our organization has prepared adequately to offset it be first identifying the resistance prone zones then involving relevant political leaders of the area who support the change.

The authorities will provide for use the necessary requirements to counteract the resistance from the above mentioned entities. The use of internet to campaign will be an excellent barrier breaker since the content will be accessible to a large population at a time .This is provided the population has access to the internet. Several methods will be applied to access change in both short term and long term. To begin with statistical data available in criminal justice institution will be our

major source of evaluation data. The reported cases of gender based discrimination to women are normally recorded by criminal.

Justice department each time an offence is reported. A change in the data, decrease in reported cases will be taken to mean an improvement as well as effectiveness of our activities. Several policies and laws will have to change in the event of our organization being successful. For instance, male and female will have to be treated as equal persons in the society. The ratio of man and women in leadership positions and work will have to be equalized 1:1 Finally the religious view of both genders will have to change to be the same through the world.

Throughout the project I have leaner’s that gender based violence is an acute chronic problem in our society that need immediate intervention if a solution is to be reached. The current organization dealing with the same should multiply their efforts in their activities to hasten to accomplishment of their goals.
