Cultural differences refers to differences among people because of their racial or ethnic backgrounds, language, dress and traditions. And lastly, time zones is the geometrical division of time across the world in 24 longitudinal divisions.Firstly, language barriers will impact a business.

Customer services will need to contact customers around the world and they may speak a different language; therefore it’s important for a business to understand these cultural differences and have solutions. Most importantly, sales will need to make sure they know the different customs, rules and regulations as when they want to sell products in other countries they won’t be able to if the right rules are not followed; it could even consequent fines which would be bad for the businesses reputation.Furthermore, time zones is another factor which impacts a business. If a department such as sales is making an international phone or video conferencing call to sales in another country, they must be conscious of the time zone differences and make sure to set a reasonable time for all involved people.

Also cultural differences can also affect availability. For example, just because you schedule a meeting for the middle of the day doesn’t mean that time will be good for everyone else. Specific cultures have different ways of doing things such as Spanish people having a siesta.Overall, different roles are affected by a range of factors, such as cultural differences and time zones so it’s important that a business has knowledge of them in order to run successfully.
