Despite being married for almost a year, Harry and Maggie faced difficulties with their finances.

The man resided in a council estate with minimal furnishings, including a table, two chairs, two beds, a basic kitchen and simple bathroom. He held dual employment roles as a newspaper deliveryman during the mornings and evenings while working part-time as a car park attendant. One day after returning from his paper rounds, he discovered that his wife had purchased an unnecessary black and white television using their hard-earned money which caused him to become upset. Given their already precarious financial situation where affording three meals per day was challenging, he argued that prioritizing savings over indulging in luxuries should be their focus.

After enduring a lengthy lecture, Maggie and her companion went without communication for three days owing to

his ire towards her. Furthermore, she was dissatisfied with his constant commands and desired a television. In response, she devised a plan that brought a smile to her face.

Following the normalization of the situation, the man discovered his partner had purchased a video recorder after a week. This further enraged him and he admonished her, asserting that she must comply with his wishes and refrain from buying anything without his approval. He then sardonically proposed that she should proceed to acquire some videos at present.

Despite the insincerity of his advice, she bought a pack of five blank tapes, as he had suggested. In response to his sarcastic query about being Bill Gates, she jokingly expressed her desire for him to be so. However, after this interaction, he did not communicate with her until their one-year anniversary on Saturday. By Friday, it seeme

that the importance of her extravagant purchase had faded and he resumed his usual behavior towards her.

Upon his return from work on Saturday, the man discovered that his partner had arranged a gathering to commemorate their anniversary, which some of his friends attended. Although he was torn between accepting the celebration without complaint and objecting to the expenditure of his hard-earned money, he ultimately chose to accept and enjoy the party.

Upon receiving a lottery ticket as a gift, he examined the numbers - 6, 23, 27, 32, and 41 - and imagined how winning would change his life. He fantasized about trading in his council flat for an opulent mansion and memorized the selected numbers due to their significance in his potential jackpot victory.

The night progressed with the arrival of more friends. At 8 o'clock, they opted to view the drawing on their TV. Anticipation built within him as he waited for the number calling to begin. Finally, it started, and the first ball revealed a perfect match - number six. His heart palpitated, with a group of his friends witnessing his luck. He enlisted additional pals to join in on the excitement as the second ball was announced - number twenty-three. His jubilation was audible, practically shaking the home.

At the age of twenty-seven, the man couldn't comprehend why his wife wasn't sharing his excitement and remaining composed while he was ecstatically jumping around. However, when he reached numbers thirty-two and forty-one, his elation knew no bounds. He shouted louder than ever before, celebrating his newfound millionaire status. Even though he missed hearing the bonus ball, it didn't matter to him at all. He vigorously

danced around his room for roughly twenty minutes, damaging items he believed needed replacement.

Excited by winning twenty million pounds on the lottery, he called all his friends to announce his upcoming celebration on Sunday. However, during their TV viewing, the screen suddenly went blank despite his checking that the fuse was not the issue.

Upon his return, the television appeared to be functioning properly and he proceeded with his festivities. Once the guests departed, he impulsively phoned in an order for six of something. The following morning, after perusing the newspaper, his complexion blanched as he observed that the winning numbers differed drastically from those on the ticket resting beneath his pillow.

Upon viewing the previous week's draw recording, he discovered that his wife had bought a ticket for this week using the same winning numbers. As he gradually comprehended the situation, he sat in shock and disbelief at his mistake. He began to doubt his spouse's intentions, but she clarified that she believed he had been treating her unjustly.

The message had been understood.
