What is Commands?
Commands are a form of verbal communication used to instruct someone to do something. They can be used in a variety of settings and by people of all ages. Commands can range from simple requests such as pass the salt to more complex instructions like set up this computer network. In the military, commands are an essential tool for successful missions and operations. Military personnel must be able to quickly and efficiently respond to orders given by their superiors, or risk facing serious repercussions. In addition, there is a specific language used in military commands that consists of acronyms, code words, and abbreviations that are difficult for non-military personnel to understand. In the home, commands can be used as a way to provide structure for children and teach them how to follow instructions. Parents often use commands such as eat your dinner or put your toys away as a way of encouraging their children to complete tasks without having lengthy discussions about them. Other parents might use more positive reinforcement when issuing commands such as please put your toys away so we have time for reading later which tends to have better results than simply ordering children around without explanation or reward. In the workplace, managers often rely on commands in order to direct employees and ensure that projects run smoothly and on time. Employees must learn how to respond promptly and appropriately when given orders by their supervisors if they want to remain employed at their company. This means understanding exactly what is expected of them before beginning any task or project assigned by a manager or superior employer.
