In the article "The Use of Reminiscence Therapy for the Treatment of Depression in Rural-Dwelling Older Adults," the importance of skilled nurses in assessing and developing interventions for the mental health needs of older adults, particularly those in long-term care facilities, is discussed. This therapy involves reflecting on past events, emotions, and thoughts to assist older adults in adapting to their current situations. her childhood, raising six children, witnessing the growth of her grandchildren, and our family traditions. Reminiscence therapy is a valuable tool in enhancing communication and self-expression for older adults.By allowing them to share their experiences, this therapy not only increases their self-worth but also provides a sense of achievement. Moreover, reminiscence therapy offers numerous therapeutic benefits that greatly improve the patients' quality of life ,including alleviating depression (Davis;Little 2002).Participating in reminiscence therapy as a nurse offers opportunities to gain insight into the patient's life, history, and achievements. This therapy fosters connections between past experiences and present behavior while building trust through genuine interest and care. A significant advantage is that reminiscence therapy does not entail medication, making it easily integrated into a patient's daily activities with minimal space and time requirements.
