A series of conflicts fought between France under the leadership of Napoleon Bonaparte and a number of European nations between 1799 and 1815. During this time Spain & Portugal would be invaded and occupied by France.

American-born Spaniards who owned land, but ranked below "real" Europeans.

Was a military and political leader. Bolívar played a key role in Latin America's successful struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire, and is today considered one of the most influential politicians in the history of the Americas.

A military or political group that rules a country after taking power by force. WIll be commonly used in Latin America after independence.
