Harriet Tubman: Beginning a Change to Slavery Essay Example
Harriet Tubman was born around the 1820 during slavery, she grew up with her mother (Harriet green) and her father (ben ross), she also had eight siblings she grew up with, but they got separated because of their slaves owners. Harriet Greene (their mother) tried her best to keep them together but slaves forced them apart Harriet parents both had good jobs, but at age 6 Harriet started working for her slave owner (Anthony Thompson) who whipped harriet if she heard her baby cry. After all those whooping Harriet became too weak so her owner had to replace her.
But at the age 12 Harriet tried to help some slaves escaped but instead she hit her head with a metal object that left her in many conditions, but that didn't stop slaves, by December 1850 Harriet led her first passen
...gers to underground safety, by march 1851 she saved around 300 people which lead her to the first underground railroad women, during the civil war she managed to be part of saving 700 people.
Finally she met a man named nelson Davis who was a free man later in her last years being alive she married nelson Davis who appointed their baby girl named (gertie). Harriet and her brothers ben and henry escaped slavery so people donated 300$ if they found both of them, but Harriet and her brothers never got caught no matter how hard these slaves owners tried.
In the 1850 Tubman started working with Quaker abolitionist Thomas Garrett and Frederick Douglass. Harriet went back and freed her family but she tried to help her husband but he refused to leave with her, he wanted to sta
with his new wife Caroline who stayed in Dorchester county. Then she took her last mission to save her sister but she found out she died so she had to re-route. By that time her sister died Abraham Lincoln had just been elected to be president Tubman took a lil break and worked as a cook and a nurse in Carolina and Florida.
At the age of 93 Harriet was suffering from a head injury called pneumonia so her last two years alive she build her own house, and she told her friends and family “she will save a place for you”. Harriet Tubman was preannounced died on march 10 1913 she was buried by a military to show how she was a very important underground railroad leader. Harriet Tubman impacted our lives today cuz she was the first black one to change what white people taught about us Hispanic people.
