Although he still focuses on restaurants, Garcia's role has expanded beyond pizza delivery. He now owns twenty Jersey Mike's Subs locations in Southern California and plans to open more outlets. His goal is to have 70 sites in ten years.

This happened after moving there when I was 16 years old. Although I knew that franchising could be difficult, I understood that if we remained committed and worked towards our goals, my family and I would benefit from it.

What captured my heart was not only their exceptional product but also their dedication to supporting local organizations and charities within the communities they serve. During our 3-plus years as Jersey Mike's franchisees, my team and I have given away over 36,000 subs and raised nearly $350,000 for community organizations.

The interviewee shares similar business values and work ethic with Peter Cancro, Founder and CEO of Jersey Mike's. Despite starting the company at a young age, Cancro has expanded it to 1,300 locations nationwide while maintaining a commitment to giving back. This aligns well with the interviewee's values, resulting in a successful partnership with Jersey Mike's who offer necessary support. Prior to officially opening for business, the interviewee estimated spending $20,000 on legal/permits and $275,000 on equipment/buildout. In addition, corporate was not the only source of information I obtained about the business. I also spoke with 15 existing franchisees. As for unexpected challenges, there were none. The process of construction through opening day went smoothly as I am highly organized. Jersey Mike's team provided excellent support. Furthermore, I was able to implement my own marketing ideas, which differed from their standard program. It was a success and even other locations are now borrowing my ideas. This relates to the question of challenges faced when opening a franchise.

When it comes to owning their own franchise, what advice do you have for individuals? My recommendation is straightforward: Work hard and work smart, act with honesty and integrity,

take risks, lead by example, inspire employees to be their best regardless of their position, and finally, delegate! What does the future hold for you and your business? This year I am excited to announce the opening of 10 new Jersey Mike's locations. By 2020, my goal is to have launched 45 new locations, and within a decade my aim is to introduce 70 new Jersey Mike's restaurants to Southern California. Related:
