Acknowledge the alarm: ERC - Press ACKNOWLEDGE and all locations will display. HRC/SRC - Press ALARM ACK and continue pressing ALARM ACK for multiple locations. MRC/PRC - Press ACKNOWLEDGE and FIRE ALARM SCROLL DISPLAY for multiple locations. UV - There is no alarm panel inside the UV Main Office. If a general alarm is reported at a specific UV building, contact UMPD to investigate. If there is a fire in the Main Office, evacuate the area and call 9-911.

Once the alarm is acknowledged, who does the SA contact and in what order?

Contact the RA-On-Duty closest to the alarm location and inform them of the location and the type of alarm, (i.e. smoke detector, pull box, etc). Contact UMPD to have them send an officer and let them know an RA is investigating. Contact the direct Supervisor and the Unit 4 Supervisor.

Document the alarm on the Activity Log, on an Incident Report and on the Fire Alarm Report Log (located on or near the fire panel).

If the RA-On-Duty reports a confirmed fire/alarm, evacuate the entire building: ERC -The entire building is already in alarm. If not, pull the nearest pull box. HRC/SRC - Push the Manual Evacuation button (separate door on panel must be pulled open to reveal it). MRC/PRC - Pull the pull box of the building needing to be evacuated located across the Fire Alarm Panel. Contact 9-911, UMPD, the direct Supervisor, the Unit 4 Supervisor and Eaton Front for: the AD-On-Duty, the Maintenance Manager On-Call, Housekeeping On-Call for Residence Halls as well as maintenance and housekeeping via the Facilities Customer Service Help Desk for general clean up. The SA must give the street address to the 911 dispatcher (memorization is encouraged but not essential - address is on the front of each post binder). Give Fire Rescue, upon their arrival, the Mobility Impaired List (located on or near the Fire Alarm Panel). Document the alarm on the Activity Log, on an Incident Report, and on the Fire Alarm Report Log (located on or near the Fire Alarm Panel).
