In an effort to meet the demand for healthier foods, the company merged with The Quaker Oats Company in 2001, which further expanded the reach of PepsiCo and increased the market share.

The PepsiCo continued to expand its reach by picking up Gatorade and Sobe. PepsiCo Inc. s the fourth-largest distributor of beverages and snack foods, which provides a continually increasing stock for its shareholders. Although the company has stated to be water conscience, not all water usage is

being taken into account. One area that they are located in that is specifically controversial is India. PepsiCo recognizes and shows the water conservation that occurs in the agriculture, but fails to take into account water usage in its supply chain. With water being an increasingly scares resource in India and the obvious need for water to run the plant, I recommend that the plant should be closed and moved to a community that can handle the operations of the plant.
