Rabbaniyyah means Godliness. Based on the Quran, “Be your worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly. ” It is stated that Rabbaniyyah has two aspects. First, godliness of the purpose of life which means all Muslims are obliged to perform ‘ibadah to seek pleasure from Allah as stated in the Quran, “That to your Lord is the final Goal;”. By performing ‘ibadah, all muslims will be conscious about their duties in this world and prevent themselves from being egoistic.
Next, these aspects also cover the godliness of the divine source and methodology. Islam emphasizes the clear method which is based on the revelation from Allah which shows that Islam is a comprehensive relig
...ion compared to other religions. Maslahah means benefit or interest and it is divided into three types. First, ‘essential maslahah’, it consists of the five values which are religion, life, intellect, lineage and property and it must be preserved wholly by enforcing shari’a laws which intended to save Muslim community.
Next, ‘complementary maslahah’ is supplementary to ‘essential maslahah. Whoever denies it will face hardship. That is why Allah has granted us concession to ease people’s live. That can be proved in the Quran, “Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. ”. Lastly, ‘embellishment maslahah’ is basically to perfect and improve muslim’s deeds in every aspects by practicing moderation (wasatiyyah) in life.
