President Benigno S. Aquino III delivered his 4th State of the Nation Address on July 22, 2013 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex. The address took place at 4:03 PM in the presence of a joint Congressional session and other government officials.
During this year's SONA, the government emphasized its accomplishments, such as the approval of the Sin Tax Reform Law and "Responsible Parenthood Law" (RH Law). Reforms have also been implemented in the Education System (K-12) and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Furthermore, there has been an increase in TESDA graduates and Philhealth enrollees with enhanced benefits. Additionally, a budget of P6.2 billion was allocated for flood control in Metro Manila, while 9,377 housing units were completed for Typhoon Sendong victims. During his State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Aquino praised his cabinet members for their dedication to improving the country. He specifically acknowledged DFA Secretary Alberto Del Rosario's successful management of the repatriation of approximately 20,000 Filipinos from Libya.
