Despite the passing of yet another day, the young girl still has no recollection. She reflects on the events that brought her to this state and holds onto hope for clarity in the future. It has been three months since she lost her memory, and now she nervously awaits footsteps approaching in the corridor.
"Who is there?" the girl asked, her voice filled with fear. The door opened and a terrifying entity approached her. She let out a scream, but unfortunately, no one heard her.
"Hey, hey, calm down missy, is that any way to greet your knight in shining armour?" The man wore a long trench coat darker than a raven's wing with his snow white hair which gleamed in the moonlight. "Who exactly would you be?" asked the girl. "Can you answer that f
...or yourself?" "...No... I have amnesia and as a result have forgotten everything including my name." "Ha. If you insist upon calling me something then call me Jonah." "Ok then, pleased to meet you Jonah," she still didn't quite know what to make of the man, was he friend or foe? "Hmm I suppose you'll be needing a name too. Celeste is a good name for you since you look like such an angel," Jonah gave her a wink whilst wearing a cheeky smirk.
"I..." Celeste blushed even redder than a tomato. She couldn't remember the last time a man had given her such a compliment (probably due to her amnesic state). "Well then, shall we proceed?" she asked. "Where are we going, and why do you want me to come with you? I still have no idea who you really are," Celest
said, now feeling tense. "Everything will be explained in due time. All I want is to help you find purpose in your life," he replied. "It's somewhat unclear, but I believe in you. Even though I know I shouldn't; my judgment may be influenced by the late nights and medication."
Oh, that's right I don't have any clothes except for this smock. Ha. Don't worry Mon Cheri, Jonah's got it covered," he gave Celeste another smile, then reached into his coat and pulled out a pair of jeans and a sports jacket. "I know it's not much but it shall do until we can get you fully dressed." "Thank you. Excuse me for a moment," Celeste stood up from her bed and closed the curtain while she changed.
After their time at the hospital, Celeste and Jonah left and started wandering through the night. Celeste inquired about their first destination, to which Jonah answered that they would be heading due south to a small village called Donn'Lo. He mentioned that it is the capital of the country but quite far away. Doubting her ability to walk such a distance, Jonah asked if she was sure she could handle it. With unwavering determination, Celeste affirmed her capability and expressed that fully dedicating herself was necessary in order to uncover her lost memories.
Jonah and Celeste found a rather unremarkable inn to stay at after a long walk. Despite its lack of amenities like a swimming pool and having only three rooms with subpar plumbing, the inn exuded a certain peculiar charm. It was located in a bustling market village where people from various backgrounds went about their daily routines.
"Yawwwn.
Good morning Jonah, Celeste asked as she got out of bed. Jonah replied that he had slept well. He mentioned that he was going out to buy supplies and asked if Celeste wanted anything in particular. Celeste requested him to buy her a newspaper since she had been out of touch for a while and wanted to see if she had missed anything. Jonah sarcastically said that he would fulfill her wish. He also instructed her not to leave the inn while he was away.
"Understand?" his tone was now much more serious. Celeste was surprised by his abrupt change in mood, "Ok I'll stay right here." With that, Jonah left the room and went outside. Jonah strolled down a small alley on the outskirts of Donn'Lo, where a solitary figure stood, cigarette in hand. "You took your time Joany boy, I was getting worried about you."
Anyway, did you get the package?" asked the man. "Yes, I have her. Tell the boss that the plan is going exactly as scheduled. I will bring her to 'the nest' in about a month, unless there are any 'inconveniences' on the way," replied Jonah. "You better make sure of that, for your own sake," After the meeting, Jonah started walking back to the inn when he witnessed a horrifying sight: Celeste had left the inn and found herself in a difficult situation.
"Gwhararar! I have captured the lycan, and now no one will be able to hinder my plans!" a burly individual grasped Celeste and proceeded to transport her down the road. "Release me, you enormous brute! (how incredibly cliche, I feel like a damsel in distress from a
fairy tale)" she silently pondered, "...(all I need now is my knight in shining armor..." "You there, the stout one, release the girl and I may spare your life," Jonah stared fiercely at the man. "What can a punk like you possibly do against me?" he confronted Jonah, looking him straight in the eye. Jonah slowly unfastened his coat, which swayed in the wind. He reached into a pocket.
Bang! Jonah arrogantly struck Goraz, the ape man, with smoke billowing from his golden revolver. As he holstered his pistol and approached Goraz's still body, Jonah declared, "I warned you." Suddenly, Goraz's eyes snapped open and he soared into the sky with astonishing velocity. "No! How did he survive? I aimed for his heart..." Jonah pondered silently.
Celeste was unconscious on the ground as Jonah hurried towards her, intending to bring her to safety. With little time to spare, Jonah swiftly placed himself in a protective stance right in front of Celeste, shielding her from Goraz. Drawing his gun from his coat once more, Jonah prepared to confront Goraz who was situated 300m away.
Jonah loaded his revolver with a crimson bullet and aimed carefully at Goraz, who was 100m away. He fired, and this time the bullet successfully tore through the ape man from head to toe. Jonah exclaimed, "That was a close one!"
Who was he and how did he know Celeste's true identity? Jonah will have to investigate and gather information. He lights a cigarette and inhales deeply. "Hmm, mm. Oh hello, back from your shopping so soon?" Celeste inquired upon waking up. Jonah gave her a stern gaze in return. "Don't pretend you don't recall; I
specifically instructed you not to leave this room. You were nearly murdered, Celeste," he responded with a mix of severity and emotion.
"I was curious. You seem to have forgotten that I was stuck in a hospital bed for an unknown amount of time. I wanted to see if the world had changed, that's all."
"Well, next time, let me know if you plan to do that."
"Yeah, yeah, I will. Oh, I have a couple of questions for you."
"Go on." She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. Celeste then asked: "Why is it always so dark? It doesn't seem like there's a sun anymore. And another thing, what did monkey man mean when he said that I'm 'Sheena?'" Celeste had a perplexed look on her face.
Jonah looked at her for a moment and gave her a smile: "I'll tell you all about it in the morning, don't you worry your pretty little head about it. For now though, let's eat! I don't know about you, but I'm famished."
"Seems like you're dodging the question; why is it that men never want to sit down and talk? Though I suppose it's been a while since I've had a good meal," Celeste smiled back at Jonah.
"Ha."
"Well then I shall put the pan on and cook us up something." He went into the kitchen and started frying some rice and chicken. After the meal, they both went to sleep but were abruptly awakened by constant knocking on the door. "Open up ya tramps'! ya aint paid your rental fee! Pay up now or I'm kicking ya both out!" the inn keeper was rather disgruntled. "There is
no need to get so riled up good sir, I have your money right...
"Jonah's wallet was emptier than old mother Hubbard's cupboard," the man said angrily. "Both of you need to leave immediately! This is not a place for freeloaders! Return when you have money," he grumbled as he exited the room. Jonah gathered his scant belongings and woke up Celeste who was still half asleep. "Wake up, sleepyhead! It's time to get up," Jonah exclaimed loudly. Groggily, she tossed and turned until she finally tumbled out of bed.
"Ow, ow, owww!" exclaimed Celeste as she accidentally hit her head on the floor. Soon after, Jonah declared, "Pack your bags, we're leaving soon." They swiftly left the inn and wandered through the village until stumbling upon a tavern with the name The Tortoise and the Hare. Celeste questioned, "I thought we were supposed to be investigating, not just stopping for a quick drink?" Jonah reassured her by saying, "Ha, don't worry, we are. One of my reliable associates frequents this establishment."
If anyone can shed light on your past, it's him," Jonah answered. "Hey, aren't you going to tell me about-" "See you inside," Jonah interrupted, hastily entering the pub. "GRR! That man, always avoiding questions! Well, I guess it does give him a certain charm, tee-hee. Oh god, what am I saying? Don't tell me I'm developing a crush on him!? Ahem... well, I don't want to keep him waiting." And so, slightly flustered, Celeste soon followed Jonah inside.
Upon entering, Celeste was immediately hit with the overpowering scent of smoke. The room was crowded with several people, mostly men, all huddled over the table like motionless
puppets. Disapprovingly, Celeste commented to Jonah, "Are you certain your contact is here? It seems like a disgusting pit." Ignoring her sarcastic comment, Jonah headed towards the bar. "Hey Ando, I'll take a long island black tulip and for the lady, a Vermillion rose," Jonah requested.
"Ando quickly grabbed two glasses from the shelf and skillfully poured the drinks, displaying his mastery. "So, what brings you back here? Legal trouble?" Ando curiously inquired. Jonah glanced at Celeste to his left, hinting at her being the cause. "Ah, a problem with your lady. You sly old fox," the bartender playfully teased.
Celeste blushed. "I'll explain later, all I can say now is: I need to speak with 'Melchior'." Jonah spoke quietly to ensure privacy. "It must be serious if you need his assistance. Follow me," instructed Ando as he walked down to the other end of the bar and unlocked a door leading to a passageway. "Now Celeste, I want you to stay here, okay? And this time, please don't run off on your own," politely asked Jonah.
She expressed her belief that she thought so, but requested him not to take too long due to the peculiar odor in the place and a man who was staring at her. Jonah leaped over the bar and trailed behind the bartender, walking beside Ando through a dimly lit hallway where their footsteps reverberated. They arrived at the end of the passage, which initially seemed like there was no way forward. However, Ando pressed a stone against the wall, causing it to disappear into the ground in front of them. The corridor continued ahead, just as dark as midnight.
Ando and Jonah
felt like there was no end in sight as they continued walking, going further and deeper. Eventually, they arrived at a door displaying a sign that read 'Melchior's domain- enter at your own risk'. "Haha, he hasn't changed one bit. He truly takes pleasure in toying with people, doesn't he?" chuckled Jonah.
"Exactly, mate. You'll see what I mean when you step inside," Ando replied, warningly. Contrary to expectations for such a prestigious place, the room was not a lavish paradise; rather, it was a small, poorly illuminated wretched place. It was completely bare with no lights or furniture whatsoever.
Well, there was something: a flickering candle that cast eerie shapes over the walls. In the corner, there was a single chair, old and withered. Melchior sat on this chair, puffing his pipe like a chimney.
"Magi of the North, I require your services," Jonah asked with the best English he could muster.
"My, my, my. It's been so long since anyone has called me a Magi. You see, not many people have need for one such as I these days," Melchior cackled to himself.
"Hold on.
Jonah expressed his astonishment at Melchior's state, saying, "You appear to have aged more than expected. How is that even feasible?" In response, Melchior replied, "Well, let me contemplate. Ahh yes."
Celeste was feeling frustrated with her partner for excluding her, so she made the decision to disregard his objections and follow him. At the bar, she sat and stirred her drink with her finger while contemplating how crucial it was for her to be fully informed about her own past. With a strong resolve, Celeste abruptly got up and trailed behind Ando and Jonah
as they walked down the dim corridor, making sure to stay near Jonah without losing sight of him.
Luckily for her, the shadows concealed her effectively if she were to be detected trailing the couple. Celeste was becoming tired of descending stairs and traversing dark crevices. "Goodness, how much longer does this corridor continue!" she was becoming highly irritated; patience was certainly not her forte, but despite that, she pressed on ahead. After approximately an hour of extensive walking, Celeste had ultimately arrived at the conclusion.
"I wonder if Jonah and Ando are on the other side of that door," Celeste quietly pondered, glancing towards it. "There's also someone named Melchior in there, which is odd because I've never heard of them before. Since my accident, I've only interacted with hospital staff and Jonah, and no one has ever mentioned Melchior."
Celeste's curiosity was ignited as she tried to recall any information about Melchior. However, her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by murmuring emanating from inside the room. Eager to listen in, she pressed her ear against the door.
The conversation instantly transported her back three months ago when she was given a peculiar assignment - capturing a young girl. Suddenly, her heart skipped a beat as she contemplated whether that girl could have been herself. Intrigued now, Celeste continued eavesdropping on the discussion.
Melchior continued: "Now initially, I thought this mission was simple, but I was mistaken. You see, this girl was a chimera, specifically a Lycanthrope - vicious creatures, Jonah! Abominations! They cursed me and stole my youth. However, I succeeded in capturing the girl, or rather the 'guinea pig'."
"Melchior, are you serious? This is unbelievable!" Jonah exclaimed with
great distress.
"I speak the truth; the Lycans aim to create a virus that spreads their bloodline to humans! And the girl I captured is serving as their incubator," Celeste stood in shock and fear as she realized her entire existence had been for a twisted experiment - her life held no meaning.
Why should she keep living? Bravely holding back tears, Celeste silently walked away from the door that now felt cold and menacing; it revealed a truth she couldn't bear to confront.
The taunting figure stood there as she moved further away, laughing. The figure remarked, "Hmm, I estimate we have approximately a week before the Lycan virus completely infects her system. We must hurry, Jonah! Take her to see Casper in Spira for additional information. Now go! May the gods grant you speed!" The inner beast raged as the winds howled violently, swirling leaves into the air. The sun hung low in the sky, preparing for the approaching night.
Jonah and Celeste were on their way to the glacial city of Spira, heading north. Celeste expressed her frustration after hours of silent walking, saying that it wouldn't hurt Jonah to engage in conversation. Jonah apologized and promised to make it up to her.
How about we rest for the night in that cavern in those hills, not exactly five star luxury but it'll do for now," he stared deep into Celeste's eyes, she began to blush. "Thank you. I appreciate it," They both walked towards the ominous looking cave; although it looked threatening, it was better than being in the freezing wilderness surrounded by ferocious beasts and dark shadows which consumed the land. The interior of
the cave was damp and dingy, horrible and smelt putrid like rotten meat.
"Ugh what is that god awful stench!?" Jonah sarcastically commented on the unpleasant odor. "Ha. That's the great outdoors, ain't it grand?" he replied. "Humph. I don't need your stupid jokes, okay."
"I've got enough to deal with as it is, so just leave me alone!" Celeste exclaimed passionately, nearly in tears. "Relax, get some rest and we'll sort it out later, alright?" Jonah comforted her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Go away! My life has only gotten worse since I met you! I was happy in the hospital, and then you came and took me away. I should never have come with you! Now I find out I'm some sort of freak experiment, that I'm some sort of werewolf! Get lost! I'd rather take my chances out there on my own," she cried and ran out of the cave, holding back her tears. "Very well," Jonah responded. A few hours had passed since Celeste had fled the cave; she was cold, tired, and hungry. The sky had a deep blue color, and the moon was hidden by the lingering clouds.
Unbeknownst to Celeste, there was an individual trailing after her, lurking in her shadow with utmost stealth. The stalker was rapidly closing in on Celeste, positioning itself discreetly behind her. "Purrr, greetings. If I'm not mistaken, you must be Sheena," uttered the figure as it confronted Celeste.
"N-no. W-who, W-what are you?" she was very scared of this stranger. "How rude of myself, I do apologize. My name is Violetta, however most know me as the Black Panther, CHIMERA's premier assassin," she curtsied. Celeste
was breathless; standing before her was a tall, scantly dressed panther woman.
"A-are you real?" "Indeed I am.
Haven't you learned how to transform yet?" inquired Violetta. "Heh heh, g-good joke. I think you've got the wrong person, I'm just your everyday run of the mill girl," Celeste trembled with fear, her eyes staring deep into the eyes of the panther woman. "Well, that won't do now, will it? Here, allow me to help you," she grabbed Celeste's arm and pulled up her sleeve to reveal a tattoo - the mark of the beast.
Celeste fought to break free. "What are you doing?" but Violetta couldn't respond as Celeste's tattoo started to emit a glow. "No, no! This isn't happening! Stop it! What did you do to me?!" As soon as she finished speaking, her jaw and nose started to elongate. Her bones cracked and stretched, tearing her clothes apart. Iron grey hair began to spread across her body, completely covering her. Pointed ears emerged from her head.
She let out a cry of pain, rendered speechless. "Damn! I'm too late! I have no other option but to confront her myself," Jonah angrily threw his long, black trench coat to the ground with a loud thud. Firmly gripping his distinct silver revolver, it shimmered in the moonlight. "I only have one stun bullet, so I must make this shot count, because if I fail... may God show us mercy." Jonah locked his gaze with Celeste's menacing yellow eyes. The two adversaries assessed each other, circling a small space on the floor; this would be the battleground.
Celeste confronted Jonah unexpectedly, but he managed to evade her and counterattacked
using a powerful left hook. Despite being struck, Celeste remained unfaltering and brushed it off. Jonah expressed his realization that the situation was turning out to be tougher than anticipated. The female wolf charged once more, and this time Celeste successfully landed a hit, causing blood to stain Jonah's snow-white hair.
"Damn you woman, do something!" He yelled desperately at Violetta. "You can keep up with her better than I can, grab her!" Violetta appeared surprised. "Like I'd assist you, haven't you forgotten I'm here to ensure she eliminates you. However... I wouldn't mind challenging my abilities against this creature. Alright, I will assist," Violetta quickly charged at Celeste, deftly maneuvering from side to side as she approached.
Jonah and his new partner coordinated their attack on Celeste, successfully subduing her. In the moonlight, Jonah brandished his revolver, and with a single pull of the trigger, the bullet pierced into Celeste causing her excruciating pain. The effects of the tranquilizer were becoming evident as she cried out.
Slowly but surely, her bones were cracking and shrinking back to their original, human form, and the fur retracted back beneath her skin. Finally, the tattoo faded away as though it was never there. "Well, I'm pleased it all worked out. So Violetta, are you leaving now, or would you strike an injured man?" asked Jonah; dusting himself off and polishing his gun.
"...Yes... I will go away, but remember this Jonah: I will come back and I will end your life!" With those words, she disappeared into the darkness, moving as stealthily as a shadow. Jonah took deep breaths, feeling the chilly and sparse air. The wind wailed, carrying
the dust upwards into the atmosphere. He looked up at the stars; the moon shimmered in the pale fading light above the planet, emitting a magnificent radiance.
Despite not seeing a single person or any sign of civilization, there was nothing but the wilderness and the open road. Jonah admired the unchanging beauty of nature as he continued on foot. After walking for many miles, he eventually succumbed to exhaustion and collapsed. Both of them lay there, unconscious and completely vulnerable...
Clomp, clomp, clomp. Emerging from the shadows, a large figure forcefully pulled Jonah and Celeste into a narrow crevice where a comforting fire burned, acting as a guiding light for the lost. The peculiar figure, cloaked in tattered attire, concealed its entire form resembling a caterpillar inside its cocoon. Jonah and Celeste nestled near the fire, securely enveloped by a cozy woolen cloth. Restlessness overcame Celeste, causing her to toss and turn.
"*Yawn* Mmm... where am I?" The figure cautiously hid behind a rock. "Hey there, thank you for providing us shelter, and don't worry, I won't harm you," She kindly smiled at the stranger, and the figure approached Celeste. "Come closer," she motioned to the being. However, the stranger's cloak got caught on a protruding rock from the wall.
The young, slender girl emerged as the cloak dropped to the floor, revealing her unique features. "....!" She grimaced and locked her gaze on Celeste, leaving her speechless. The girl possessed what seemed like antennae sticking out from her head, along with circular eyes on her face. Additionally, she had a second set of responsive arms growing from her waist. Notably, there was a thorax, colored in
red, green, and black, protruding from the base of her spine. Her clothing consisted only of torn, ragged pieces of cotton, barely providing any coverage for her body.
It was unfortunate that she had disfigurations because she used to be a beautiful young girl and now she is a mutant. Celeste was scared but also concerned and exclaimed, "Oh... my! What has happened to you!?" The young girl quickly went to get her cloak and covered herself again. "They...
They subjected me to terrible experiences that had a profound impact on me. Specifically, they inflicted this on me.
Everyone called me a freak. I was forced to be out here.
Feeling extremely isolated, the girl started to cry softly. Celeste approached her, embracing her and comforting her with a gentle rocking motion, similar to how a mother would soothe her child.
"Don't worry, I will assist you in any possible way. I understand your fear, even though it may not seem like it."
And Jonah over there is the nicest man I have ever met. I am sure he would help you as well. Celeste released the girl and smoothed down her cloak. It is a pity that you hide such a beautiful face from the world. She winked at the girl and asked for her name. Celeste introduced herself as Celeste. The girl wiped her tears and hesitated before answering, as no one had asked her in a long time. Her name was Anna. Celeste suggested it was time for them to go back to sleep, and they did. Celeste yawned heavily, wrapped herself up in her cloth, and fell soundly asleep. Anna chose not to conceal herself with
her cloak anymore and threw it out of the cave, abandoning her defense against the outside world. Just like Celeste, Anna rested her weary head and drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face. For the first time in her life, she was happy.
Jonah had stayed quiet throughout the conversation between the two girls. However, now that they were asleep, he saw an opportunity to leave. He carefully collected his coat and weapons, silently left the cozy cave, and took a final glance inside before continuing on his journey. "Don't worry, my beloved Celeste, I won't be gone for long. I just have some matters to attend to," Jonah murmured to himself. The morning had arrived, with the sun descending in the sky, signaling the arrival of a new day. The sunlight flooded Anna's cave, filling it with vitality.
Anna experienced a strange phenomenon when sunlight touched her. It caused her transformation to reverse. Her additional body parts withdrew into her torso, and her antennae disappeared, leaving only her brown hair. Her eyes became more human-like, resembling deep blue sapphire pools. Eventually, her thorax curled back into her body as well. Thus, Anna regained her human form. Nonetheless, she can only maintain her humanity in sunlight; otherwise, she reverts back to her monstrous insect form during the night.
"Ah, good morning Anna, how are yo-," Celeste was taken aback to see Anna back in human form. However, she quickly remembered Anna's previous transformation and brushed off her surprise. Anna now appeared as a stunningly beautiful woman, with her auburn hair gracefully moving in the calm wind. "...Yes... thank you... I'm... fine.
"How are you?" she stuttered.
"Couldn't be better!" Celeste smiled at Anna and then glanced sideways, noticing a small piece of paper where Jonah had been sleeping. "Where has that man gone off to now?" she mumbled to herself. Celeste started reading the note: 'To my little angel, I have an urgent matter to attend to and won't be back for quite some time, I'm afraid. I shall meet you in Spira in 6 days in a bar named: C'est la vie.'
Oh and I suggest you and that other girl improve your combat skills since you don't have me around to protect you. Ha. Learn to transform at will, and then, only then venture out of the cave area. Ciao bambina.' "Ergh. The audacity of him!" Celeste threw down the paper and angrily stomped on it. "Tell me Anna, do you know how to transform at will? 'Cause I don't know!" she was slightly flustered at the thought of morphing into that...
Once again, Anna apologized for her previous hesitation and offered to help figure out the solution. Struggling to maintain a smile, she and Celeste exited the cave and ascended a large plateau, eager to learn the art of transformation. Reflecting for a moment, Celeste pondered their starting point and suggested focusing intensely on their desired outcome, channeling that intention into a tangible form - the transformation. Surprised by her own wise words, Celeste couldn't help but feel proud. Both Anna and Celeste closed their eyes, ready to begin.
Both standing in silence, deep in thought, they were trying to unleash the beast within. After an hour or so, something finally began to happen! Celeste's arms and legs were covered in
creeping fur and her ears became pointed. However, this was as far as she would go. Anna also achieved some success as her antennae popped out of her head once more and her thorax became visible again.
"Hey look, we almost achieved it! Well, close enough!" Celeste exclaimed, jumping with delight. However, her excitement quickly transformed into panic as she realized they didn't know how to go back. Anna, also unsure about how to revert to their normal state, shrugged. "Alright, we just have to... um..."
Celeste expressed her uncertainty and fear, panicking and trembling as she said, "I'm not actually too sure. Nooo, I can't go around looking like a... like a beast! I'll be shunned, outcasted..." She was lost in her little drama when Anna interrupted her and brought her back to reality, suggesting, "Um... couldn't we...just um..."
Celeste and Anna were thrilled by the idea of retracing their steps. Celeste was bright eyed and had a smile on her face, calling Anna a genius. They repeated the process that allowed them to transform into their primal, animalistic selves, but this time in reverse. They visualized their changes disappearing, with fur receding and limbs returning to their original length. Finally, they were relieved to be back to normal. Celeste suggested getting some lunch as they were hungry, and Anna agreed. They headed off into the wilderness in search of a meal, which was a perfect opportunity to practice what they had learned.
Jonah approached the tall gates of Spira with composure, his black coat surrounding him. The gates, made of cold iron, exuded an aura of mystery and dread. These impenetrable barriers held all secrets captive; nothing
could escape their confines. Smirking, Jonah declared, "It's time to demolish these walls." He lit a cigarette and took a long drag, inhaling the smoke into his lungs before entering the city.
The people of Spira usually kept to themselves, showing no concern for others and only caring about themselves. However, as Jonah passed by them, their eyes filled with fear. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha! It appears that you all remember me! Oh, it has been such a long time since we last met, my dear friends. Did you miss me?" Jonah seemed like a completely different person, being loud and annoying. "Come now, there's no need to be shy. Come out and give your dear Uncle Jonah a big hug." As he spoke, a sinister intent gleamed in his eyes.
Without warning, he swiftly crouched and tossed his trench coat into the air. The coat gracefully floated in the soft breeze, capturing two bulky daggers. Behind Jonah emerged a solitary character, whose movements were both swift and quiet, instilling fear. In an instant, the figure approached Jonah directly. "My, my, I had presumed you would have lost your touch over time. Well, at least your murder won't be entirely dull," the peculiar man licked the blade, relishing the thrill of the kill.
"What! What do you mean? Who has authorized this order!?" Jonah, seemingly for the first time breaking his cool and trembling, most likely out of fear. "Haven't you ever heard of client confidentiality? No, no, I can't be telling you that, I'll kill you now if you don't mind." He gave a small sadistic smirk then unsheathed his dark metal dagger
which was dull in the afternoon sun. "Damn you Judas!" Jonah screamed and began frantically searching for cover by running down the street, looking desperately from left to right and up and down. Spotting a market stall, he pushed it over and immediately jumped behind it.
Judas laughed loudly and pursued Jonah down the street, using evasive maneuvers to dodge Jonah's gunfire. However, Jonah couldn't catch the swift assassin. Judas lunged at him, but Jonah managed to avoid a serious injury with just a scratch. internally, Jonah contemplated using a powerful bullet but hesitated due to the potential harm to innocent bystanders. Instead, he decided to fight fair and abandon his dirty tactics. He declared to Judas that he would now fight like a true man. Jonah rose from his hiding spot and dropped his revolver, which landed with a thud, stirring up some dust. He then approached his fallen coat, now covered in dirt.
After dusting it off, Jonah discovered a small object in his pocket that resembled a sword grip, although it was missing a blade. Jonah's friend expressed concern about dueling without a blade, considering him to be crazy. However, suddenly, a brilliant light emitted from the handle, forming a blade with a heavenly glow. Jonah named the weapon "Penitentia," finding it fitting as it represented the sword of heaven in the hands of a devil, resulting in irony. He confidently took a step forward and approached Judas clo
