Crabs are well-known for their delicious meat encased in shells. However, with the increasing consumption of crabs comes a rise in waste from uneaten shell crabs. In light of this issue, researchers find it essential to explore alternative uses for crab shells.

The main aim of this study is to provide a cost-effective, easy-to-produce, and consumption-safe substitute for commercial flour. This alternative will be beneficial not only to cooks, bakers, marine product dealers, and other entrepreneurs but also to Filipinos in general by utilizing crab shells instead of disposing them as waste. Moreover, it will help alleviate the country's waste management problems by reducing garbage accumulation.
The research seeks to find a less expensive and uncomplicated substitute for commercial flour. It concentrates on examining its potential, acceptability, and effects on food, specifically in terms of color, texture, and smell.

The study aims to provide a cheap and easy-to-make substitute for commercial flour, which has significance for various stakeholders. Thi
includes buyers, customers, and particularly, bakers. Additionally, marine product dealers and communities with an abundance of crabs will benefit from this research as it offers a new use for crab shells instead of discarding them. Moreover, this study can serve as foundational knowledge for future researchers.
The study is limited to exploring the potential and acceptability of using crab shells from various crab species as a substitute for commercial flour.
The study was carried out at Viloria's residence, Barangay Retac, Roxas, Palawan.
Definition of Terms: CrabShell- the hard outer part that protects the body of a crab. Calcium Carbonate- A colorless or white crystalline compound that makes up the shells of crustaceans. It is also a leavening agent and is used in baking. Flour- a powder obtained by grinding grain, usually wheat, and utilized in making bread, cakes, and pastry. It serves as the control in the study. Pulverize- the procedure of breaking down an object into small particles.
