In the construction industry it is important that the individual knows how to construct angles, lines and planes. These are keys elements in the proper construction of a building. It is important
...for both attraction and safety. In this field the end result is very important to the individuals who are working on the project. If the building is not constructed in a way that it is balance it will not be safe for use as well as it may not look attractive. As I reflect on the importance of geometric construction to the construction industry I could not help but to reflect on the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
I believe that equidistance can play a central part of creating balance between two things of the same size. During the construction of the leaning tower a number of things were noted to have gone wrong. The weight and height of the building compared to the width of its base on a soil that was soft. After the tower was discovered to be leaning on one side the contractors decided to build a wall on the side that wa
leaning to stop it from leaning. This made the situation worst as the tower began to lean more on the side they were building the wall.
The weight was balance on the soil I believe the tower may sink, yes but it would not have leaned. Equidistance is important in the laying of tiles. Tiles are used to enhance the building or a room. They are often used to create patterns on floors to add a touch a class. The contractor uses spacers to establish equal distance between the tiles. This is done for neatness and to maintain a pattern also. It is also used in erecting columns. Columns are used to support a building and for beautifying it also.
The use of equidistance is important to this also. It is very essential to establish the centre of gravity so that in case of disaster such as an earth quake or hurricane the force acting on the building will be the same all round. In construction straight lines are important. It is very important for the foundation of a building. This is how co-linearity is useful. Contractors or construction workers use levels to ensure the foundation is level by establishing straight line from one point to another.
In this modern age lasers are used to ensure a straight line when building foundation or even making walls. Also connecting steel or wood to establish a structure includes co-linearity as in the examples below. It is also important to other areas such as steel tying and laying blocks. Co-linearity and equidistance applies to the construction industry in many ways. From the digging of the foundation to the erecting of a
building geometric construction, and most definitely, equidistance and co-linearity plays a vital role.
