The Filipinos have a long-standing tradition of enjoying coffee before breakfast and during mid-afternoon snacks, a practice that has been passed down from generation to generation. The origins and significance of coffee are often not fully comprehended. Coffee is produced from roasted coffee beans, which come from the coffee plant. It is an agricultural product known as green coffee that holds considerable value in global trade. Because of its caffeine content, it can provide a stimulating effect on individuals and is widely consumed across the globe.

...and is believed to possess medicinal properties for different ailments, particularly diabetes. It contains flavanoids and alkaloids that stimulate insulin production in the Pancreas, aiding in the control of blood sugar levels for diabetics. Ampalaya is highly treasured by people with diabetes due to its acknowledged anti-diabetic qualities.
