The United State is a nation admired by many, an admiration that has led to its being given prestigious names such as super power, land of opportunity and green land. The US attained its success by adopting and maintaining a culture of good cores value. Core values are principles that guide a country on the manner in which it should conduct its internal affairs, as well as its affiliation with the other countries in the world (Feldman 423).

Equality is among the various core values of America and is often deemed as the dominant America value. In accordance with the American definition of equality, people should have the opportunity to compete openly while having a fair chance to achieve the rewards of the society (Thompson, Hickey, and Thompson 68). Equality in America requires that all citizens are treated f

airly, with dignity and can attain all their dreams and ambitions in education, politics, social- economic, and life fulfillment as a whole, without any form of bias. The nation has embraced the value of equality by the virtue that it is important in that it serves as the foundation of any nation that has a desire to attain its full potential. Equality prevents any member of society from undermining other individuals, as well as ensuring that any section of the society does not surpass others to ensure that all sectors of economy operate smoothly towards the progress of the entire nation other than benefiting a few individuals (Soltani and Maupetit 281). This phenomenon is evident in all sectors that are well monitored as evidenced in the education sector that is well equipped and open to all citizens regardless

of their background to the extent that such education opportunities are extended to bright students in other nations.

The US ensures that all citizens, regardless of their financial status, have access to quality medical programs such as the Obama health care program which is based on ensuring that accesses to quality medical services are available to all citizens. It has also embraced a culture of ensuring that all individuals have equal access to security, regardless of their cultures or social norms. Equality has fully been embraced in America to the extent that even members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community criticized in other nations are fully embraced, and their right are protected equally (Soltani and Maupetit 262). The value of equality ensures that citizens base their decisions on what they feel is worthy of them, and not following any structured norms or expectations. This phenomenon is demonstrated by the level of maturity and emphasis on equality when Barrack Obama was elected as the president in 2008 and re- elected him in 2012, even though he is a Black American (Feldman 430).

Regardless of the fact that the core value of equality is fully embraced in America, it is limited if its access undermines other people’s rights and liberties or it compromises other sectors, or its gain is for an individual and not the whole society. For instance, ownership of guns is legal in America, but if the right of possession threatens the safety of others, it is no longer available to the individual (Russell 78).
In conclusion, equality gives every individual equal opportunity to prosper in any field or sector by ensuring that opportunities are

not made available and accessible to only those who belong to the elite or able families, but to all who possess the qualification and desire to prosper.
