The carriage of firearms by the college students remains one of the debates in most of the campuses in the United States. Most of the institutions tend to support this argument while others lie on the opposing side. Upon my point of view, the government of the United States should allow college students to carry firearms in schools. The recent murder of a female undergraduate student on the grounds of the University of Texas at Austin serves as an appalling update that school grounds, though typically safe, do play host to each type of violent issues that exist in the entire society. Regardless of the evidence, we need to trust that colleges are safe places protected from dangers this present reality, actually the main thing isolating most learning institutions from whatever remains away from the world is a walkway.

Among the laws concerning the safety of the human life holds that an adequate defense is an important right of an individual. The law holds that a person should adopt the best, and the necessary means that defends his/her life. Possession of the firearms by the students shows their commitment towards the preservation of their safety. Most of the students in the college campus play a significant role in promoting the security in their community. They are participating in safeguarding their families from violence.

Provision of licenses that allow possession of guns by the college student enables the students to acquire military skills that enable them to protect their families from ethnic violence. Allowing students to possess guns in schools means that they can carry the firearm to their homes for safety purposes. Possession of weapons or a firearm facilitates respects for the identity of all the students in the school fraternity and homes. Therefore, allowing the carriage of firearms by college campus students has a varied number of advantages that outweigh the disadvantages.

Many people argue that allowing college campus to possess firearm

encourages more incidences of violence on the campuses. This argument tends to contradict the fact behind the possession of firearms in the schools. Holders of firearms in the colleges should meet certain requirements such as an age of 21 years, pass an extensive background check and obtain authority from the local law enforcement (Lott, 23). Passage of these elements shows that individuals that the possession of the firearms in the campuses is only for the upright students that may not misuse the guns.

The law does not allow intoxicated students to possess the firearms, and any alcoholic student found in possession of a firearm should be responsible according to the law. The concealed carry weapon permit holders provide full responsibility of the individuals owning a gun. The law of allows possession of firearms to the responsible students and there are tiny cases reported concerning the involvement of crimes by the students. Therefore, the notion concerning the emergence of crimes by students possessing guns demonstrates a lot of misconceptions from those opposing this idea.

Moreover, college campus students are mainly the youths that are at high risk of unintentional and violent injury. Most of the students have an age range of between 18-22years, and some them are single male and female individuals with a lot of freedom from homes and parental care (In Labanc, 67). Allowing firearms to these people will act as an assurance for their security whenever they are away from home. The security for the female gender inside and outside the college campus tends to very low. Allowing concealed carry of firearms to the school will help these students to protect themselves against unprotected sex

and other crimes that may affect their life in the college.

Some of the frequent incidences of violence in the United States include the cases of terrorism. Colleges and other learning institutions are the frequent targets of terrorists. Allowing the carriage of firearms and equipping the students with skills that enable them to efficient use the guns is another important strategy for mitigating the challenge that is facing the country (Bardes, 30). Allowing the students to carry firearms in colleges guarantees their full security. The students can efficiently use the guns to safeguard their lives and the lives of their friends from a violent attack by terrorists. It reduces the psychological effects of fear that encounters most of the students in schools. Bullying and abuse by other students is a common problem that challenges most of the college students. Provision of guns to these students makes them free from incidences of bullying among the students.

In conclusion, one can infer that the possession of firearms by the college students does improves not only the security of the students in the school but also develops the living standards of the students. Therefore, the security department of the United States should put into consideration of the above reasons that supports the allowance of firearms to the college students. However, the government should enact rules that govern the possession of the firearms by the students. It should ensure that only students that pass the stipulated restrictions to minimize the shortcomings of the action.
