Cloelia and Harriet Tubman are different people, but they both helped slaves to safety and freedom. They are very similar people that did very important things throughout their life. The big difference is their time frame Cloelia was from 508 B.C.E. and Harriet Tubman was born in 1820. Cloelia was a hostage and Harriet Tubman was a slave. Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery by running to Canada, but then she decided to come back for the others in need of help. Cloelia was taken hostage and made an escape saving many young women.
Cloelia was held hostage in treaty with the Etruscan king. She was the one that had the idea of escaping. She is known as a Roman hero that saved people by swimming across a river, but that isn’t all that she di
...d. Cloelia swam across the Tiber river with the other hostages to Rome. After the escape she went back and took full responsibility of the escape which led to her captor Porsena freeing because of her courage hero. She was also allowed to take people with her, she chose the young boys, because they were being whipped and tortured Cloelia was a role model for women during the time period.
Harriet Tubman was born in Maryland in 1820. She lived with her family, but slavery split them up. She was sold at the age of five to be a nursemaid. She cared for a baby, but each time he/she cried she was whipped. When she was about seven she was rented to be a planter and would set muskrat traps and soon after that was rented out as a field hand. At th
age of twelve she saw a fugitive slave almost hit with a heavy weight and ran in front of it which broke her skull which caused her problems for the rest of her life. Harriet married a free black man, but that didn’t work out so she set up an escape route, she ran along with a few other slaves to freedom. Eventually she had the Underground Railroad which helped many other slaves to escape.
These two women are very similar because they risked their lives trying to save people from more damage. They both saved many lives and were very brave. They never looked behind them and later came back and saved more people. Cloelia saved hostages and Harriet saved slaves, but no matter who they saved they still helped. These women are now known as heroes for their bravery. They do have their differences, they both come from different time periods and saved different types of people. No matter what the difference they still are heroes who risked their lives.
Conclusively, these women did more than some of the people that are world famous. Nowadays we need more people like them because no one takes action for what they have done. People need to realize that by doing this back then now people have more stable lives. These women are brave, courageous, strong and very outgoing they think of others needs not theirs.
