Discretion involves using one's judgment to make a decision before acting. It means opting for what is right instead of what is wrong. For instance, in a public setting, if someone behaves strangely, we can exercise discretion by deciding whether to approach them and ask about their well-being or to leave them be. Discretion allows us to make informed decisions as required.

At the moment she brandished the firearm, I believe she could have targeted the suspect's leg in order to prevent his escape without causing his demise. I find killing him to be rather excessive in terms of discretion. Exercising discretion is a challenging skill to master, as it requires individuals in control of the situation to exercise it judiciously. To enhance decision-making regarding discretion among law enforcement officers, it is imperative to provide additional training and courses on the appropriate usage of discretion, which should be accessible to all individuals seeking it, as everyone employs discretion in various circumstances.
