Despite a common misunderstanding, it is important to recognize the distinction between Arabs and Muslims. While Arabs are an ethnic group, Muslims belong to a religious group that practices Islam. It is essential to note that being Arab does not automatically mean being Muslim, and vice versa. Additionally, one's nationality cannot determine their religious beliefs.

The article outlines that individuals who identify as Arab typically originate from one of the 22 countries situated in the North African and Middle Eastern region, collectively known as the Arab world. Additionally, these programs caused fewer Muslims and Arabs to travel to the United States, further exacerbating tensions between these groups.

Civil liberties advocates emphasize the significance of education in fostering tolerance and fighting against discrimination towards Arabs and Muslims. Prejudice often stems from fear, but learning about these groups can alleviate fear and eradicate prejudice.
