In the 1992 season's second game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coach Mike Hologram made a significant decision to replace Don Milksops with Favor at halftime due to a substantial deficit. Despite this change in quarterback position, the Packers faced a heavy loss of 31-3 in that particular match.

It is worth noting that prior to these events unfolding, Favor had led an impressive comeback victory against Alabama's Rolling Tide while playing for Southern Mississippi. Coach Gene Stallings described it as miraculous or legendary and acknowledged that on that day Favor had been larger than life.
