Despite a difficult start, San Francisco NFL fans remain hopeful for their team's return to the prosperous era of the 1980s. In 2007, they were disappointed with a record of 5-11 and coach Mike Nolan was dismissed midway through the 2008 season. However, bringing on Mike Singletary proved to be a wise decision as the team improved their record to 5-4 that year and achieved an impressive 8-8 record in 2009, securing second place in their division behind Arizona. Singletary's leadership style is reflected in the team's approach - strong and determined yet consistently producing positive results.

San Fran aimed to strengthen their team by expanding talent and depth in all positions. The previous season saw quarterback Alex Smith throw for 2,350 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions resulting in a .500 record. However, the add

ition of veteran player David Carr may push Smith to perform better and potentially lose his starting position. Running back Frank Gore is likened to a bowling ball gaining momentum downhill, having achieved over 1100 yards in 2009.

Joining him in the backfield is Glen Coffee, renowned for his finesse and upright running style which contrasts with Gore's. The 49ers acquired RB Anthony Davis in the 6th round of the 2010 draft, who has a similar physique to Gore and will specialize in short-yardage plays. The team has also improved their receiving corps with confirmed NFL talent Michael Crabtree starting as one of them. Additionally, Ted Ginn Jr., released from the Dolphins, was picked up by the 49ers and is expected to start on the opposite side.

of accumulating 965 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns. To achieve this objective, Coach Mike Singletary has aimed to recruit determined and hardworking players for both offense and defense. This mission became successful after adding Anthony Davis from Rutgers as a robust offensive tackle and Mike Iupati from Idaho as a sturdy guard in the first round of the draft.

It's probable that both the quarterback and running back will experience a boost in performance due to improvements made by the offensive line. The 49ers have recently acquired two new players for their defense - Taylor Mays, a free safety from USC, and Navorro Bowman, a linebacker from Penn State. Although Bowman had some off-the-field problems during college, it is anticipated that he will flourish under Mike Singletary's guidance as part of the team. If everything goes according to plan and the quarterback performs well, there is a realistic possibility that they could contend with Arizona for the division championship in 2009.
