In the depths of the Australian Rainforest, there is a small murky pond surrounded by thick green moist foliage. Situated in the center of a deep dense rainforest filled with the chirps and clicks of various animals, there sits a platypus named Karl Ward. Karl spends his days lazily lounging on a sun-warmed rock in the pond, gazing up at the tree-shadowed sun. With a mind full of contentment, he observes the creatures that surround the pond.

Karl watches as two kiwala bears slowly chew on green moist grass, basking in the sun's rays. He also observes a brightly colored gecko that repeatedly immerses itself in the water and slides out quickly. This catches Karl's attention, and he realizes he is hungry. He searches for little grubs beneath the water's surface, feeding on algae coll

ected on top of the pond.

After satisfying his hunger, Karl returns to his rock, basking in the calming noises of the rainforest and the warmth of the sun on his furry body. He sat there as he did every day, contemplating and thinking about nothing. Just feeling warm and content on his small place in the world – his gray stone.

It began to get dark, and he curled into a little ball, ready to rest his furry body. He lay there motionless with his mind blank, in a sleeping state for platypuses do not normally dream. That night though, a dream formed whirling through his brain and rippling his small subconscious –he dreamt of a huge stone ball rolling down a hill floating in empty space surrounded by endless black.
The hill itself had a smooth and brown appearance, with only a fe

ditches and mounds. Karl Ward, the platypus, followed the hill as it seemed to roll endlessly without changing its speed. As the monstrous stone ball continued its descent down the hill, Karl began to experience changes within himself. At first, these changes were minor, like a slight itch on his cheek or arm. However, he soon found himself growing larger and his furry skin itching intensely.

Throughout this physical transformation, Karl continued to follow the rolling boulder. Eventually, the boulder came to a gradual stop. To his astonishment, Karl noticed a tall and gold-plated mirror suspended in mid-air that radiated an unseen light. He looked into the mirror and realized that he no longer saw his usual reflection from his muggy pond.

Instead, he now saw the face of a young blond boy staring back at him. Although startled by this unfamiliar image, Karl's platypus brain quickly accepted this change. He remained in place, captivated by the luminous mirror before him. Driven by curiosity, he slowly crawled closer towards it.

With just a breath's distance between him and the mirror, Karl reached out with his new human hand and made contact with its surface. The mirror rippled like water as if it were liquid silver allowing his hand to glide smoothly through it. Encouraged by this experience, he extended his other hand and gradually inserted it into the flowing silk-like mirror.Merging with his new image, he crawled closer until his body was submerged in the liquid mirror. A dazzling light flashed and divided the silvery glow as he struggled to fit on his small stone upon awakening. Awkwardly tumbling from side to side of the now little gray

stone, he eventually slipped off and splashed into the dense murky water. Trying to swim, his new body clumsily hindered him as he moved through the water. Sinking, he realized that his larger size would touch the pond bottom before drowning became a risk.
Using his human hands, he grasped smooth stones on the pond floor and attempted to crawl towards the shore which appeared much closer than before.Slowly pulling himself across rocky bottom, he finally reached thick grassy shoreline. After exerting effort, he successfully positioned himself on grassy shore.Lying there, soft grass touched hairless limbs and sun shone on his back. While lying there, sudden burning sensation on back made him yelp, startled by unfamiliar sound created by alien shell. It was at that moment when everything changed. There was no doubt in mind that dream had become reality -now flesh form seen in mirror upon awakening. He didn't question why or how this transformation occurred as it exceeded understanding. In the days that followed, he gradually adjusted to his unfamiliar new body. Each of his human senses felt different. Objects around him seemed to shine with clarity. The bright light of the sun made his eyes blink and sting when he looked at it. When he turned away, he noticed small colored objects obstructing his clear vision. Crawling on hands and knees caused waves of pain as stones dug into his knees. Trying to crawl with webless feet while still gripping the ground with hands proved impossible to maintain. Despite knee pain, he slowly crawled over to a group of gutting stones on the edge of a powdery dirt cliff for shelter and rest from strenuous activities endured by his unnatural body.

Backing into the cubbyhole, he pressed his smooth face against the cold dirt wall, letting out a frustrated sigh before dozing off once again.

During the night, buzzing noises and dazzling lights twirled in his mind as plagued dreams filled his sleep. The following morning brought soreness and stiffness from an uncomfortable sleeping position. He clung to the outer edge of a boulder and struggled to pull himself out of the shelter, dragging his feet behind him. After completing his task, he lay down on the soft moss surrounding his humble shelter and gazed up at the sky. In this rainforest, he felt a vibrant energy. With his enhanced hearing, he closed his eyes and immersed himself in the harmonious melodies of birdsong and the rhythmic clicking of koalas. Suddenly struck by hunger, he realized that finding food was essential. The thought of consuming algae grubs repulsed him, so he decided to explore the small area near the pond for something more appetizing. As he crawled around, feeling discomfort from the stones jabbing into his knees once again, he anticipated that this search would not last long. Moving cautiously, occasionally brushing against plants to gauge their edibility through touch, he suddenly felt a slight pinch on his lower back. Turning quickly to see what had caused it, he discovered a creature resembling himself attempting to hide behind a wispy plant. Karl stared intently as this strange creature threw another pebble at him. This act sparked anger within Karl and prompted him to swiftly turn around to face the creature directly. Realizing that its attempt at camouflage had failed, the creature emerged from its hiding spot and stood

before Karl. This sight perplexed Karl greatly; although it seemed to sneer at him, there was also an underlying sense of goodwill emanating from it. While sharing similarities in body structure with Karl's mirrored reflection, this creature differed significantly in appearance.
The creature had a deep burnt hue, contrasting Karl's moon-pale complexion. It was larger than Karl and had sleek charcoal-colored hair that matched its disheveled appearance. Its fingernails were encrusted with dirt, creating a dark outline around its body. A small animal skin fragment adorned its waist. With a peculiar smirk, the creature maintained eye contact with Karl while coughing and wheezing. Karl noticed the same amusement in its eyes, indicating it meant no harm. However, he couldn't understand the significance of these actions. As he contemplated the cheerful smirk, rapid crashing sounds echoed from the nearby woods. The noises grew closer to both Karl and the creature, making him feel uneasy and bewildered. Two more creatures emerged from the dense green perimeter and halted when they saw Karl. While kneeling uncomfortably with sore knees, Karl met their gaze. These two creatures also had burnt brown skin and charcoal-covered hair like the pebble-throwing creature before them. They wore animal skin attire similar to their companion's.Their indecipherable sounds left Karl unable to comprehend their meaning as they made different mouth shapes accompanied by peculiar noisesThe creatures directed the sounds towards the first creature, surprising Karl. The first creature responded with unusual sounds while the other two glanced at Karl and then back at the first one. They sighed and grew calm, joining in on sneering and producing coughing and gasping noises. Karl was relieved that the other

two creatures did not seem angry, alleviating any danger he may have felt. Surprisingly, all three of them left, leaving Karl alone.
Seated comfortably, he entertained himself by playing with a leaf. Uncertain of who these burnt-skinned beings were, Karl felt confused. Curiously, he went to a dense dark pond to observe his transformed human reflection. Stained with dirt like the encountered creatures, Karl's skin had also turned slightly red.
Intrigued, he leaned closer and cautiously placed his right hand on the undulating water's surface creating ripples. Fascinatedly allowing the water to envelop his hand until it slipped beneath its murky depths. He peered into untidy water witnessing tiny insects darting about in every direction.Flashes before his eyes vibrant orange fish swiftly swimming past his immersed hand.Removing his hand from the water,Karl lay down on his back shutting his eyes finding solace in jungle sounds surrounding him.A playful breeze tugged at unruly hair causing an inward smileThe crashing sounds suddenly intensified, growing louder than before. As Karl opened his eyes, five burnt creatures swooped in and ensnared him with a thick straw net. Startled, he hastily reached for the coarse netting, fervently struggling to free himself from its grasp. He yelped and bounced around while the burned creatures carried him in the net. The rough ropes cut into his skin and the sun hurt his eyes. Despite continuing to yelp, he stopped resisting and observed their movements and communication as they pulled him towards their destination.

Sitting there, he imagined turning back into a platypus but knew it wasn't possible. The burned creatures halted their walk abruptly, making louder sounds that scared him again. He yelped, but they kept

getting closer despite his attempts to escape by kicking against the net. Ultimately futile, they dropped him on the floor where he slowly freed himself from the net.

Stepping back with gasps of surprise as he tried to stand like them, confusion filled their eyes as they stared back at him while he sat on the ground feeling both confused and scared. Eventually, a large burnt creature carried him to a wooden hut that emanated scents of wood, charcoal, and oils. Gently placing him on a soft fur-covered surface that also had faint hints of oils and dirtWhile running his hands along the smooth comforting material, Karl glanced back at the creature before it left the room. Resting on the cozy surface, he felt his body melt into it as he surveyed the room and noticed various peculiar gadgets. His attention was caught by a window high on the wall, revealing a small patch of tranquil blue sky which brought him a sense of calm. After stretching and drifting into a dreamless slumber, Karl was awakened by another burnt creature sitting on the edge of his soft bedding, holding a peculiar device. The creature handed him a wooden contraption containing some sort of liquid. With encouragement, he took a small sip and found it reminiscent of the pond's murky water but sweeter and smoother. As Karl drank, the creature smiled and he returned the smile. Gradually over the next few weeks, he started to feel content in his new surroundings and adapt to their ways.

In the depths of the Australian Rainforest, he struggled to comprehend their language as if his brain couldn't understand their code. However,

he began to understand gender and cultural distinctions among Aborigine people. Slowly adapting to their traditions and ways, he found contentment in his new lifestyle despite being unable to communicate with them effectively. He grew accustomed to their unique sounds and cries which now held meaning for him.

One day while sitting atop a cliff near their village, Karl observed the world around him.In the midst of a dense rainforest, surrounded by thick green foliage, there is a small murky pond. Chirps and clicks from the forest animals fill the air. On a gray rock in this pond resides Karl Ward, a platypus. Karl spends his days lazily lounging on the sun-warmed rock, enjoying the shade provided by towering trees. With a mind filled with contentment, he observes the other animals that gather around the pond. Two kiwala bears leisurely chew on moist shards of grass while basking in the warm sunlight. Karl's gaze then shifts to a brightly colored gecko with an orange hue and black specks as it skitters towards the edge of the pond. The gecko repeatedly dips into the water and swiftly emerges, while Karl, hungry from watching this spectacle, searches for grubs beneath the surface. After satisfying his hunger, he returns to his rock, embracing the calming melodies of the rainforest and comforting touch of the sun on his furry body. Sitting there day after day, Karl allows his mind to wander aimlessly. Feeling warm and content on his small place in the world - a gray stone - Karl settles in for the night. As darkness falls, he curls into a little ball ready to rest. In his usual sleeping state

with a blank mind, a dream forms and sweeps through Karl's brain. In this dream, he visualizes a massive stone ball rolling down a smooth brown hill surrounded by endless black space. The rolling ball maintains a consistent speed as it descends continuously down the hill. Along with its descent, Karl feels himself undergoing subtle changes - starting with a small itch on his cheek or arm and then perceiving himself getting larger accompanied by violent itching sensation on his furry skin.Despite the ongoing changes to Karl's physical form, he persisted in following the monstrous stone ball. Eventually, the boulder came to a gradual stop. As Karl maneuvered around it, he was amazed to come face-to-face with a massive mirror suspended in mid-air. The mirror looked tall and adorned with gold, emanating a gleam from an unseen light source. Looking up at his reflection in the mirror, Karl realized that he was no longer seeing his familiar image from his muggy pond. Instead, he saw the face of a young blond boy. Despite being initially startled, Karl's platypus brain quickly accepted this change. Curiously, he approached the luminous mirror and crawled closer to it. With anticipation, he reached out his new human hand and touched the surface of the mirror, which rippled like water and allowed his hand to glide through its liquid silver appearance. He repeated this motion with his other hand, gradually merging himself and his new image with the mirror. The immersion became complete when a bright light suddenly flashed and divided the silvery glow. Upon waking up, Karl found himself struggling to fit on his small stone perch. Awkwardly tumbling from

side to side, he eventually fell into the dense murky water below him. His attempts at swimming were hindered by his clumsy new body, causing him to struggle even more.
Realizing that his larger size would prevent him from drowning, he clung onto smooth stones on the pond floor and made a difficult crawl towards the nearby shore. Surprisingly, the shoreline seemed closer to him than before as he slowly pulled himself over the rocky bottom. In the end, he grabbed hold of the thick grassy shoreline and tried to propel himself over it by kicking his legs. With great effort, he managed to reach the grassy shore. Lying there, he felt the sensation of the soft grass against his smooth limbs and basked in the warmth of the sun on his back.

After some time, he noticed a slight burning feeling on his back, which startled him when he heard an unfamiliar sound coming from an alien shell. In that moment, he realized that everything had changed. He didn't doubt that it was reality; upon waking up, he knew that he had transformed into a fleshy form similar to what he saw in the mirror. The reason behind this transformation eluded him and so did any questions about it; therefore, they faded away.

In the following days, he gradually attempted to gain control over his new and unusual body. His human senses were now completely different. As he looked around, objects of various kinds appeared vividly clear and seemed to sparkle. When looking directly at the sun's intense light caused his eyes to blink due its stinging effect. And when redirecting his gaze elsewhere, small colored specks

obstructed his newfound clear visionHe began to crawl using his new knees and hands, enduring pain as stones dug into his knees. While still supported by his hands, he tried to crawl with his webless feet but quickly realized it was impossible. Despite the knee pain, he slowly crawled towards a group of jagged stones on a dirt cliff. Beyond the rocks was a sheltered inlet where he could rest in exhaustion with his new body. Backing into the cubbyhole, he pressed his face against the cold dirt wall and sighed wearily before drifting off to sleep. His dreams were filled with buzzing sounds and vibrant lights swirling in his mind. The next morning, he woke up feeling stiff and sore from an uncomfortable position during sleep. Holding onto a stone boulder's outer ridge, he pulled himself out of the shelter while dragging his feet behind him. Outside, he lay on soft moss gazing at the sky, feeling the energy of the rainforest surrounding him. With closed eyes, he listened to melodious birdsong and koalas chattering with his new ears. Suddenly overcome by hunger, he realized that finding food was necessary. Disgusted by eating algae grubs, he decided to search for food near the pond instead. However, Karl's knees were prodded by stones, making him think the hunt would be short-lived. With caution, he maneuvered around and occasionally brushed his hand against a plant. While crawling to determine if something was edible by its texture, Karl felt a small pinch on his lower back and turned his head to find a creature resembling himself. This creature attempted to hide behind a wispy plant but threw another

pebble at Karl when unsuccessful. Irritated, Karl swiftly faced the creature and it emerged from hiding before him. Perplexed by this creature, Karl couldn't discern its emotions. It seemed to sneer at him yet emitted a sense of benevolence as well. Despite sharing the same body structure as Karl, it differed significantly in appearance. The creature had deep burnt skin tone in contrast to Karl's pale complexion resembling the moon and was larger in size with unruly charcoal-colored hair like its unkempt appearance overall. Its fingernails were dirty and its entire body outlined with dirt shadow while wearing a small piece of animal skin around its waist.
While persistently fixated on Karl, the creature wore a peculiar gleeful sneer as it suddenly coughed and gasped, all while maintaining its smirk. Noticing the same amusement in the creature's eyes, Karl realized that it was not hostile. However, he couldn't comprehend the meaning behind its actions. Lost in thought about this happy sneer, Karl's pondering was interrupted by crashing sounds emanating from the woods. These fluctuating noises grew nearer to both Karl and the creature, leaving him slightly nervous and confused. Two more creatures emerged from within the thick green border and halted upon spotting Karl. In his uncomfortable kneeling position, he stared intently back at them. Like their pebble-throwing counterpart, these two creatures also possessed brown burnt skin and charcoal-covered hair, even donning animal skin attire. They gazed at him and began communicating with each other through unfamiliar sounds that eluded Karl's understanding. He watched their mouths move into various shapes as they emitted strange noises. To his astonishment, they directed these sounds towards the first creature

which responded with equally unusual noises of its own; an experience that left Karl feeling amazed. The other two creatures glanced briefly at Karl before returning their attention to the first creature and sighing in a gesture of calmness. They too adopted sneers while producing coughs and gasps as if mimicking their companion's earlier behavior. This put Karl at ease as he realized that neither of these additional creatures harbored anger towards him; thus assuring his safetyUnexpectedly, Karl found himself alone as all three of his companions departed. He sat down and began playing with a leaf. Unsure of the identity of the burnt skin creatures he had encountered earlier, the protagonist crawled towards a dark pond. Reflecting on his own reddened and dirty skin, he closely observed the water. Slowly placing his right hand on its surface, he watched as it rippled and sank beneath his touch. Peering into the murky depths, he noticed insects scurrying about and fish swimming past his hand.

Moving away from the water, Karl laid on his back to enjoy the sounds of the jungle while a gentle breeze played with his hair. Suddenly, loud crashing noises startled him as five burnt creatures threw a straw net over him. Reacting quickly, he thrashed about in an attempt to free himself. The coarse ropes dug into his exposed skin, causing discomfort exacerbated by intermittent sunlight.

Although Karl continued to yelp in protest, he eventually stopped physically resisting as the burnt creatures carried him away. Observing their movements carefully, he saw them walking with their hands raised in the air and listened to their communication as they pulled him towards their intended destination.

Sitting

there helplessly, Karl daydreamed momentarily about returning to his platypus form by jumping out of a silver mirror-like liquid. However, deep down inside he knew that this was an impossibility.Suddenly, the scorched creatures ceased walking and their sounds grew louder and more intenseHe witnessed more of these creatures approaching him, causing fear to once again fill his heart. The sight of the burnt creatures sent shivers down his spine, and he let out desperate yelps in response. Despite his attempts to resist, the horde of burnt creatures continued their relentless advance towards him. Desperate for an escape, he kicked against the rigid net, hoping it would free him from this terrifying ordeal. Unfortunately, all his efforts proved in vain. Eventually, the burnt creatures carrying him dropped him onto the floor, allowing him to slowly extricate himself from the net. The gathered burnt creatures receded and gasped as they watched his attempts to stand upright, copying their posture exactly. With great effort, he pushed himself up using his hands and managed to briefly stand on his feet before losing balance and toppling over. He found a seat on the ground and looked at them with a mixture of confusion and fear while they stared back at him with equally puzzled expressions. Finally, one particularly large burnt creature lifted him up and guided him towards a substantial wooden hut emitting scents of wood, charcoal, and oils into the air around them. The large burnt creature gently placed him onto a soft surface covered with animal furs that emitted aromas of oils mixed with a hint of dirt as well. He glanced down at the smooth surface beneath him

and caressed it comfortingly before locking eyes with the creature who quietly left the roomKarl Ward, a platypus living in the Australian rainforest, lay on a soft mat and felt his body mold to it. Looking around, he noticed various unfamiliar contraptions. His attention was drawn to a high window that showed a glimpse of blue sky, providing a calming effect. After stretching and dozing off into a dreamless sleep, Karl was awakened by another one of the burnt creatures who sat on the edge of his mat holding a strange contraption. The creature handed it to Karl and he discovered liquid inside. With some persuasion, he took a small sip and found it reminiscent of the murky water from the pond but sweeter and smoother. Karl reciprocated with a smile as the creature did too, feeling contentment wash over him; he believed this place could bring happiness.

As time passed, Karl adapted to their environment and embraced their customs despite struggling with their language. He gradually grew accustomed to the traditions and ways of this group known as Aborigine culture. Perched atop a cliff near their village one day, Karl observed the world around him. Children frolicked in the water like sparkling fish as they playfully splashed about. Their screams and giggles filled his ears, bringing forth a smile on his face.In the heart of the Australian rainforest, nestled within dense foliage, stood a small murky pond. On top of a gray rock sat Karl Ward, the platypus. Gazing at the tree-shadowed sun, he lazily rested all day on his sun-warmed perch. Surrounding the sludgy pond were various animals. Two koala bears leisurely chewed on

green moist grass while facing towards the sun to enjoy its warmth, much like Karl himself. At the same time, a brightly colored gecko with an orange body and small black marks made its way towards the edge of the pond.
