In school improvement initiatives, the administration plays critical roles in monitoring the current situation of the school and coming up with methods to trigger change and propel the school towards the desired direction. Some of the school improvement plans touches on student behavior or administrative support to provision of instructional services, in this area, school leadership acts as curriculum developer and comes up with ways that facilitate learning, evaluating the progress of such improvement and making proper decisions based on the gathered data (Tereen & Blair, 2007). High prevalence of obesity- The school is providing accommodation for the students, as such, the students do net get exercise by walking to school. Also, the schools lack good physical education programs to engage the student in physical activities that might assist in weight loss. Often, it is the student to engage in physical exercise without supporting staff.

The school registered high obesity rates, 36% of the school population are already obese or have body mass index leaning towards the obesity side. Also, half of the school population are in junior classes thus suffer from bullying by the senior grades. The total population affected by the two problems is large. The student body is divided in “us-vs-them system, and each group tend to act unsuitable to the other. The school has prioritised implementation of counselling programs to promote good behaviour among the student. Reduction of obesity have the advantage of keeping the student within healthy weights necessary for a good learning. Also, elimination of bullying will reinforce the student’s psychological comfort thus participate

in learning activities.

Teamwork is a major component of school success. Is there evidence of teamwork in the SIP? Explain in complete sentences. The SIP consider teamwork between parents, teachers, students and administration of as key to the success of the development initiatives. This development plan features good teamwork expectations. How well did your school establish a critical relationship among its problem areas or weaknesses, the presumed causes of these weaknesses, and the plan for improved student achievement. The school started by considering areas that appear to have negative effects on the expectation of the school by reviewing data on the status of the school.

Key areas of complaints were identified and consider for improvement. The SIP was developed using the gathered data and in correlation with standards guiding the operations of a school.

One of the ways administration is in the best position to design and implement school improvement plans is their role as the main supervisory body, the administrator’s role in the implementation of school improvement plans pertains to supervising the process and ensuring that all part of the programs is in synchrony with the intended objective and proceeds as planned.
