'Are we there yet?' exclaimed Richard, the lively 7-year-old. Melissa, the challenging adolescent retorted with a demand for silence. Adam, their father, stepped in and implored Melissa to treat her younger brother with kindness. However, Melissa simply turned away while sulking.

'Not in this lifetime', she muttered as the plane smoothly touched down in a warm, beachy destination. As they disembarked at the Spanish airport, the entire family, except Melissa, appeared to be grinning in glee. A yellow cab was conveniently parked by the hotel entrance.

The small family was swiftly transported to a luxurious hotel situated in the heart of Barcelona and even Melissa, who tends to be negative, had nothing to complain about because the hotel was flawless. It boasted green marble floors that were so polished you could see your reflection, it had ceiling mirrors, a

nd most notably, there was a magnificent waterfall cascading through multiple floors until it finally reached the lobby - enhancing the reflective ambiance of the entire establishment. "Wow," Gina exclaimed, "this place is amazing."

'Melissa was left speechless and simply smiled, while Adam retrieved the keys for their booked rooms. Gina, Richard and Melissa took a seat on the white leather sofas in the lobby. When they reached the fifteenth floor in the large elevator, the bellboy opened the doors, grabbed their luggage and headed towards the two rooms. Melissa was attracted to the bellboy's appearance and impulsively followed him to their rooms, leaving her family behind.'

The rooms were adorned with similar decor as the lobby, featuring spacious and cozy beds, a luxurious en suite with a Jacuzzi, a television offering a few English channels, and a hidden

minibar. As soon as Richard spotted the beds, he couldn't resist jumping on them while Gina tried to stop him. Meanwhile, Melissa dashed to the balcony and gazed over the edge.

The location was incredibly impressive, featuring a range of amenities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, garden and dining establishment. Gina informed Melissa that she would be staying with her brother and father in one room while Gina occupied the adjacent room. Despite this news, Melissa's composure quickly vanished when she reacted with indignation at the thought of sharing a room with them.

"I want that television with a DVD player and digital in my room," exclaimed Melissa upon seeing her father. However, after receiving a stern look from him, she recalled the condition that she had to behave during the holiday to get her own TV. So, as she started unpacking, she reminded herself of the promise.

The unfairness of life was on her mind. The following day, Gina and Melissa spent the day at the beach, swimming and sunbathing, whereas Adam and Richard went to explore a football stadium. While Gina mainly spent the day in the sea, Melissa lay on a sun bed focusing on tanning and observing life. Later, an equally-aged boy named Sean approached Melissa and introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Sean," the tall, dark-haired, tanned boy said. Melissa replied with her own introduction before taking her beach bag and accompanying Sean to the beach cafe.

After striking up a conversation, the two instantly clicked and arranged to meet again the following evening. Melissa was overjoyed at the prospect, but her elation

was short-lived as an unforeseen spell of bad luck drenched her in a downpour.

Adam used a gentle and caring tone to break the news to Melissa that she would have to take her brother with her that night. Melissa appeared angry, with little puffs of smoke coming out of her ears, and Adam understood that she was about to burst. He clarified that her parents had secured tickets for a Spanish dinner and dancing night.

Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't offer a child care service and there are no other options available. I apologize, my dear. Melissa refused to bring the child along with her for the night because Sean could only make it that night. She left the hotel while yelling insults at her family in frustration.

While Gina initially attempted to catch up with the distressed child, she ultimately decided to give Melissa space and time to collect herself. As Melissa walked around the streets of Barcelona near the beach, she discovered cable cars and, despite knowing she should have an adult with her, decided to ride on one anyways. She justified this decision by telling herself, "What's the worst that could happen?" From the vantage point of the yellow cable car, Melissa enjoyed an expansive view of Barcelona.

Melissa's view of the city from the edge was breathtaking, but her enjoyment was cut short when she slipped and fell.

Melissa was in a perilous situation as she clung to the car with one hand while her feet hovered over trees. Despite crying out for help, no assistance came her way. She tried to grasp onto the door with her other hand but fear

overwhelmed her as sweat dripped down causing her hands to slip.

Melissa's efforts to prevent her fall were in vain as she continued to plummet until losing consciousness and sensation. After lying unconscious by a tree for several hours, she woke up with a sense of numbness throughout her body.

With a petrified heart and throbbing head, Melissa inquired about the hospital's situation from the nurse. While her parents sat on uncomfortable green chairs on the other side of the ward, a foreign nurse signaled for them to join. Gina tearfully disclosed that Melissa had fallen from a cable car.

'I apologize for my selfish and horrible behavior towards all of you. Please forgive me,' said Melissa, just before being enveloped in hugs and kisses by her loving family. 'You are fortunate to be alive.'

Adam expressed his relief and concern, acknowledging the anxiety that everyone had experienced. The family had gathered on the last evening of their two-week excursion to Spain and were enjoying the pleasant evening atmosphere by the beach, marveling at the stunning sunset illuminating the shimmering water. The vibrant hues of pink, gold, and orange cast delightful beams over the contented faces of Adam, Gina, Melissa, and Richard. As Gina gazed at her beloved kin, she realized that the memories of this vacation would remain etched in their minds for a long time.
