The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, also known as the Kaiser Family Foundation, is a non-profit organization located in Menlo Park, California. It functions as a private operating foundation and focuses on addressing important healthcare matters within the United States and global health policy involvement. The Foundation's primary goal is to provide unbiased factual information and analysis for policymakers, media outlets, the healthcare community, and the general public. It is worth noting that the Foundation is distinct from Kaiser Permanente or Kaiser Industries.
The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), established by Henry J. Kaiser, who also founded Kaiser Permanente, was initially located in Oakland, the same base as Kaiser Permanente. However, KFF later relocated approximately 50 miles away to Menlo Park, California. Having a thorough understanding of the topic is essential in delivering an effective presentation and managing nervousness. This preparation enhances self-confidence (Cooper & Schindler, 2011).
One example of this is at the beginning of an oral presentation, where you can mention that the United Nations General Assembly will address and adopt a strategy for international development in the next 15 years. This strategy is called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has the potential to significantly impact global health policy (Cooper & Schindler, 2011).
The well-being of mothers and children is greatly affected by multiple factors, leading to preventable or manageable illnesses that can have severe consequences or even be fatal. Developing nations, particularly African countries, bear the brunt of maternal and child mortality cases (99%). Recognizing the importance
of maternal and child health (MCH), it becomes crucial to prioritize its improvement in order to foster economic growth.
Both MDG 4 and MDG 5, which target reducing child mortality and improving maternal health, may not be achieved by the 2015 deadline. Insufficient funding and limited access to services have hindered progress, particularly in improving maternal health. Among all eight MDGs, MDG 5 has made the least progress (Cooper ; Schindler, 2011). By presenting these facts, you can capture your audience's attention and bolster your argument.
Following that, I will exhibit Figure 1, which illustrates the distribution and allocation of funding in terms of percentage. This graphical representation underscores the vital role played by NGOs in attaining global health goals. Additionally, Figure 2 will be presented to furnish specific details regarding diseases that garner the greatest attention. For example, we can observe that worldwide NGOs allocate the highest amount of funding towards HIV research and treatment. Moreover, I will delve into discussing the regions that receive substantial financial aid while elucidating why certain areas receive comparatively lesser support. Nonetheless, I have chosen not to include tables as they might confuse without proper explanation. The primary objective of this presentation is to uphold simplicity and clarity.
Under the Obama administration, the US exhibited its importance in this matter through ongoing backing for crucial aspects of the US global health initiative. This encompassed endeavors like PEPFAR, PMI, and the Global Fund. Additionally, increased focus and financial resources were dedicated to diverse other global health programs such as maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, and family planning and reproductive health.
The response of the United States to emerging infectious diseases has
recently improved because of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014 (Cooper & Schindler, 2011). Furthermore, I will share my personal experiences with healthcare and the challenges I encountered regarding this global problem. The inclusion of personal experiences helps the audience connect with the topic (Cooper & Schindler, 2011). In conclusion, I will summarize all that has been discussed and emphasize the significance of this issue, while urging listeners to support the concept of global healthcare (Cooper & Schindler, 2011).
