Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Esther Green. She lived In a small town in Western Texas with her parents, both grandparents, and her five other siblings on 500 acres of land. She was the youngest and loved spending time with her family.
Small town country girl who was home schooled and did not know very many people in her town. She lived In Easter, TX , population 1,000 people. Esther Is a six year old girl who Is homesteaded with her other siblings.
Ester's billings are Timothy who is seven years old, Emily who is nine, Joyce who is eleven, Sally who is twelve, and Anthony who is fifteen. All are home schooled together and love to run around on the farm with each other.
Every person that Esther lives with has his
...or her own horse, dog, and cat. There are chickens and turkeys that the mother raises while she teaches the children their school work and cattle that the father raises. The grandmothers plant flowers in the garden and Just do gardening work, while the grandfathers go out on their tractors and make corn rows and do the radar labor.
Everyone In the family works together and has their own designated Job. All of Esther family lives with her, so they all spend holidays together and do not need to go anywhere else. Tradition is that during Halloween, the family eats all the candy they want and watch Ghost Busters and crave Jack-o-lanterns, the father slaughters the best turkey and chicken they have for Thanksgiving and Christmas, get on their horses and ride to the lake o
their land to watch the fireworks that are fired from the majors house on New Year's, make each other cute valentine's day cards for
Valentine's day, and have a huge Easter egg hunt on their land after they paint the eggs their hens lay.
In 1912, Ester's mother got pregnant again. The whole family was so excited for the new baby to arrive. The children were helping the grandparents prepare the babies room by painting it cream and the men were in the process of building a crib. Every night at dinner, the family would try and come up with a good name to call the new baby. Ester's mom did not Like any of the names she was hearing. But she was keeping an open mind.
The baby was due to arrive on Easter Sunday, and that was not too far away. Ester's mother would walk miles and miles a day to Just think. Esther never knew why she wanted so much alone time, but was told by her mother's mother that she did this during every one of her pregnancies. Esther would watch her mother, from the window, walk out of the house in the morning and start on the trail to nowhere. Esther would watch and wait, watch and wait until her mother came home.
She would not come back until dinner time.
Days and weeks pasted leading up to Ester's mother's due date and her mother was getting more and more timid. She would hardly talk to anybody, including her 1 OFF waking up on Easter morning. Her water Just broke. Esther ran to her parents' bedroom along with the other
children and she was bleeding pastel colors on the bed.
Ester's father's father was a retired obstetrician and was ready for anything to hit him. After hours of being in labor, all of the family was anxious for the child to come out. Passing back and forth, waiting when finally something came out!
But it was not a baby...
But colorful Easter eggs! Ester's mother gave birth to the most wonderful Easter eggs anyone could ever imagine, but the whole family was shocked. Everyone was confused, very confused. Everyone was asking her questions like "How does this happen? " "Who are you? " except for Esther. Esther was intrigued, her favorite holiday was Easter and she had always wanted to meet the Easter Bunny and she final had. Ester's mother responded with a simple, "l am the Easter Bunny. " Everyone was speechless.
After Ester's mother showered and cleaned up, she came out of her bedroom and into the living room where everyone was waiting for her. Esther was right by the door wanting to talk to her mother before anyone else. Esther mother looked down at her and Esther looked up to her mother and said, "Mommy, I still love you. " Ester's mother picked her up and gave her a hug. Everyone watched as they made a connection and the whole family stood up and made their hug into a big group hug.
The whole family said in unison, "We love you too. " And they all lived happily ever after.
