-difference in jobs, wages, roles, education, etc. -predominantly in theocracies -huge conflicts today

-intentional killing of infant (under one year of age) -usually done by mother

-the gap between women's life expectancy and men's life expectancy -women have higher -why? biological fact but social forces may act upon that

-annual # of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births -high MMR = less education for women (in terms of birth control and medicine) -low MMR = can mean better education but not necessarily

-women planning "too far ahead" -people think women earn high ranking jobs because they have "connections" rather than skills -only 18.7% of US gov't is women -57.5% of Rwanda gov't is women
