It is human nature to crave for what has not yet been achieved and neglect what is already know. People are more willing to spend significant resources in inventing newer technology and drugs in the medical fields but fail to recognise the obvious and natural ways of preventing those diseases. What is the essence of letting preventable problems happen only to struggle to resolve them in future? Our lives are just as ironical as the question because we have created a life that has completely minimised physical strain yet the nature of our bodies demands physical mobility. Let’s examine the importance of exercising and travelling in our health.
The link between human health and physical activity it is universally known yet people often fail to apply this knowledge. The outcome has been a multiple of preventable issues brought about by excess body weight and depressio
...ns among others. According to Mayo Clinic reports (2014), exercise burns excess calories as well as unhealthy triglycerides which prevent obesity; this, in turn, reduces the risk of developing other health conditions such as metabolic syndromes, heart attack and type 2 diabetes. Studies indicate that physical exercise increases blood circulation in the brain and nerve cells thus enhancing one’s memory and reducing stress (Erasmus, 2014). Moreover, occasional travelling also contributes to good mental health; this can be attributed to the fact that travelling allows one to break the routine.
In conclusion, given the importance of physical exercise, everyone should make it a personal responsibility by incorporating it into everyday life. Although technology is to be blamed for the decline of the habit to exercise regularly, it also has the potential to enhance physical
exercise. Therefore, we have the choice of utilising technology to promote good health.
