Natural World- All components of the physical universe including the forces at work on these things. Ex- gravity, cells Supernatural world- Things that cannot be seen of measured. Not part of the natural world Ex- ghosts

Independent variable- varies between groups, controlled, "I control it" Dependent variable- Observed/measured/responds/depends on the IV

Broad/natural explanation for a wide range of phenomena - answers why - tons of evidence (centuries worth) - can be modified if new evidence arises

Generalities of body of observations - doesn't describe why - often mathematical - Ex- law of gravity- F= 6m1m2/r2

Theory never equals a Law

Living organism, living or once living

non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment that affect living organisms and the functioning of ecosystems.
