Walmart is an American Retail corporation. It operates a chain of discount department stores, hypermarkets and grocery stores. The company was established in 1962. Its headquarters are in Bentonville, Arkansas and as march 2016, it had stores in 27 countries. The product Walmart wants to market is laptops. The international country chosen by Walmart to market its laptops is Rwanda. Rwanda is country is Sub-Saharan Africa. The government of Rwanda has put in place measure to improve its information technology. This has created a market for the laptop manufactures and Walmart need to take advantage of this market.

Culturally Rwanda had been left behind in technology. After the 1994 genocide, Rwanda had a long recovery to go through (Reyntjens, 2013). But then measures were put in place to make sure that it does not happen again. Schools reopen and of late the government and the general citizens have been enthusiastic about improving the state of technology in the country. Students in schools are being taught about information technology. The ICT sector is growing very fast. At the moment Netsys Computers and Infinite Business Solutions are supplying computers in the country. Walmart has an opportunity to join to the competition and with its good quality laptops and at a fair price; it is likely going to succeed.
