Experimental College-Ex College—offers 100+ courses that explores current issues and interdisciplinary courses. It includes the first-year peer taught seminar program called Explorations and Perspectives which are taught by juniors and seniors.

The Curricular Advising Program enrolls freshmen in their faculty advisor's course during the first semester; recent courses include Biotechnology Engineering: Sex and Gender in Society and Aspects of the Sephardic Tradition.

Tufts students also get a healthy diet of traditional academic fare. Distribution requirements include a World Civilization course in addition to art, English and foreign languages, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and math.
