The Auteur theory asserts three concrete concepts of film making by directors. A bad director lacks technical knowhow, fails to connect his thoughts with the film and does not embrace the glory of cinematography as an art. In cinematography, film productions mostly rely on the thematic as well as stylistic consistencies that help the director to connect to the audience. Jonathan Glazier’s productions consistently incorporate the themes of illusion and fiction as well as stylistic consistencies such as facial expression to promote his videos.

videos to the song when promoting music, Glazier is keen to uncover the fiction based on his way thinking and at the same time acknowledging the use of cinema as an art. For example, in his Nike commercial Michael Jordan "Frozen Moment”, Jonathan Glazier integrates different shots in trying to connect the idea of the comfortability of the Nike shoes and Mike Jordan’s skills.

In the beginning of the video, the director brings in a long shot that comprises of the cheering fans with Mike Jordan at the middle of the action (JayMJ23's channel). As the video plays, the director introduces a full shot where Jordan holds the ball, to show the maneuverability of the Nike shoes. the fellow player, the producer bring in the sound of a hard ball and slow motion to mesmerize the audience and connect them with the theme of how the Nike shoes are stable and comfortable.

Moreover, Glazier also incorporates stylistic consistencies such as facial expertise to help the audience connect to the message or theme addressed in the video. In most of his video productions, he has frequently integrated gestures and body language to pass a message to the audience. For example, at the beginning of the film Massive attacks, the director brings in an extreme close up to show how the character is affected by drugs.

The body language or facial expression of the character in the film such as wide open eyes, lunatic face and untidy beards suggest of the insanity that the character succumbs after using drugs. Glazier is keen to match each facial expression with the tune of the song but in real sense trying to depict a broader picture. As the advert for the Nike shoes ends, the whole action is brought into a single setting whereby the producer fully incorporates Mese-en-scene thus portraying the enthusiasm of the fans, as well as the emphatic effort by Mike Jordan to score the opposing team.

Again, Sexy beast also incorporates different stylistic elements and cinematography to show Glaziers’ expertise in production. For example, in the scene where Ray Winstone is smoking by the side of a swimming pool, the director of the movie incorporate a tracking shot to show where a stone begins rolling until the moment it hits the water with a splash that gets Ray unaware (Glaziers). In the same scene, the director

brings in the facial expression of Ray’s frightened face.

Cinematography is all about the art and skill that the director incorporates in order to communicate a certain message to the audience in form of a theme. Glazier is keen to incorporate illusion and fiction and some of his key themes in numerous film productions as well as acknowledging the use of stylistic consistencies such as body language. Through integrating facial expressions, Glazier manages to communicate to the audience about a certain theme he wants to pass.
