What is Sleep?

In addition, having a relaxing routine before bed can also be beneficial for improving sleep quality. Taking a warm bath or shower before bed can decrease cortisol levels in your body which will then promote relaxation and help you drift off more easily when you go lay down in your bed. Additionally, setting aside some quiet time before going off into dreamland can also be helpful for winding down after an eventful day; this could include listening some calming music or reading a book for example (citation). Overall, getting proper amounts of restful sleep is essential for feeling energized throughout the day and maintaining mental clarity so it should not be taken lightly; developing healthy sleeping habits while avoiding activities that disrupt your natural sleeping pattern are key components in ensuring you get adequate amounts of shut-eye each night.
