What is Oceania?
Oceania is a region of the world that comprises of countries in the Pacific Ocean. It includes Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and many islands in between. Oceania has had an incredibly rich history and culture dating back thousands of years. Its people have been influential in the development of many aspects of life throughout the world.The geography of Oceania is diverse and includes vast areas of ocean as well as landmasses that are home to a variety of different cultures and peoples. Australia is the largest country in Oceania and covers a large portion of its landmass with its large deserts, rainforests, beaches, and coral reefs. New Zealand also occupies part of Oceania with its mountainous terrain and diverse landscapes including glaciers and fjords. The climate across Oceania varies greatly due to its location on Earth’s equator so it can be incredibly hot or cold depending on where one is located within the region at any given moment. This climate diversity allows for there to be an abundance of flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth making it a great place for ecotourism activities such as whale watching or bird-watching tours. The people living in Oceania have languages that date back thousands years along with traditional customs still practiced today such as weaving baskets from pandanus leaves or carving wood sculptures known as ‘tikis’. Additionally, there are many cultural centers where visitors can experience firsthand traditional entertainment such as dance performances or art demonstrations from local artists; this helps preserve vibrant cultures found only within this unique area on Earth. Oceania has become increasingly popular over recent years due to its beautiful landscapes combined with unique culture which make it an ideal destination for tourists wanting something off-the-beaten path yet still full adventure experiences.
