What is Federal And State?

The United States of America is a federal system, meaning that the nation has both federal and state governments. The two levels of government interact with each other to create laws and policies for the entire country. This means that the Federal Government is able to pass laws that apply in all 50 states, while also allowing individual states to have certain powers over their own affairs. The Constitution defines the roles and responsibilities of both the federal and state governments so they do not overlap or conflict with one another. Generally speaking, the federal government handles matters involving foreign policy, defense, interstate commerce, immigration law enforcement, taxation, currency exchange rates and even bankruptcy issues. On the other hand, state governments handle education systems, public health services such as Medicaid programs or Medicare Part D plans for senior citizens as well as transportation infrastructure projects within their borders. However there are some areas where responsibility lies between both levels of government such as Social Security benefits which are paid out by the Federal Government but managed by State agencies; environmental protection regulations created jointly by Federal agencies like EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) along with corresponding State-level departments; or police forces on highways which are maintained mainly by local police forces along with assistance from National Highway Patrol units deployed across different regions in order to ensure safety at all times. The relationship between these two levels of government can be complex at times but it’s an essential part of maintaining harmony between different parts of our nation ensuring that people living in more rural areas receive adequate representation just like those living in larger cities and urban centers do too.
