What is Books Of The Bible?
The Bible is a collection of books written over thousands of years by many different authors. It is the most influential book in human history, and has been translated into more languages than any other book. The Bible consists of 66 books, divided into two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains 39 books and tells the story of God’s relationship with His people from creation to the coming of Jesus Christ. It includes stories such as Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Abraham’s sacrifice, Moses’ deliverance from Egypt, David’s rise to power and Solomon’s wisdom. It also contains many historical events such as wars between nations, kings ruling over their people, and prophecies about Israel’s future. The New Testament contains 27 books that tell about Jesus Christ’s life on earth as well as his teachings after he was resurrected from the dead. These include four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) which tell about Jesus’ life; Acts which tells how the church was formed; Epistles (letters) written by Paul (and others) to various churches; and Revelation which talks about Jesus’ return at some future time. The New Testament also contains prophecies about Jesus’ return to establish his kingdom on earth forevermore. Together these 66 books form one cohesive story God’s plan for salvation through His Son Jesus Christ spanning centuries of human history. They provide us with guidance for living a life that honours Him while pointing us towards our ultimate hope in eternity with Him in Heaven above.
