The article begins by saying something like Most of America understands that the competence bar is set so low for Gov. George W. Bush of Texas that it's practically lying on the ground. The expectations of the American people were very low from these candidates. If you paid attention to the content, and used it as a gauge to determine which candidate was better prepared. Who was more knowledgeable. Who had a greater command of the facts and grasp of the issues, then Vice President Gore won easily. The article goes on to say. This person obviously likes gore and the way he presented himself last Tuesday. He asserted, for example, that Governor Bush "would spend more money on tax cuts for the wealthiest 1 percent than all of the new spending that he proposes for education, health care, prescription drugs and national defense all combined." Tax cuts for the wealthy was a priority for Bush and would be for a conservative thinker. This writer asks why didnt Bush explain

this action was best for the American people, and is it? Gore thinks my liberal for he is the one who want to get health care for all elderly people. Is that not a liberal idea, getting something which all people can use and benefit from.

Faced with over dramatized facial features Al Gore or primarily his head is reenacting on what her will do when confronted by a remark by Bush. The comic mocks Gore and makes him look like he is above his opponent I have ways of handling any simpleton who wants to debate me. Gore goes though every one of his facial features as if he is planning them out. First he will start with a arrogant smirk, then the roll of the eyes, followed by a haughty interruption, and finally loud sighs. At the end of the comic a little duck says Perhaps a mistake meaning that Gore was a mistake for the Presidency.
Although I do not find this comic funny, I do find this article an example of Liberalism in the media but the cartoon does show what could be called Liberal ideas. The Liberal party is strongly associated with the Democratic Party. Why then would the New York Times be so negative with way that Gore acted? During the speech Tuesday night, Gore represented himself very sternly and strictly, throwing out so called fuzzy numbers to the American accidence. Gore acted more like a conservative then Bush did. Even though Gore Represented mostly the working class and Bush mostly the upper class Gore acted like a tight ended reactionary who saw that most if not all

Bushes ideas were horrid and totally not in the nations best interests. This harshness and the appearance, which Gore projected on Tuesday, might have hurt his image along with helping it.

Of all the contentious issues in their debate Tuesday night, none underscored the differences between Vice President Al Gore and Gov. George W. Bush more than taxes. Repeating himself relentlessly, Gore asserted that the Texas governor's proposed tax cuts would award more money to the wealthiest 1 percent of taxpayers than the amounts Bush would set aside for education, health and defense combined. Bushes tax cut looks like something a monarch would give to his nobles. This overwhelmingly show Bush as a conservative Bush accused the vice president of using "fuzzy numbers," but never refuted the basic charge. In fact, Gore's formula was on target, illustrating a stark choice between the two candidates' approaches on the tax issue.

Supporting Gore and showing the fact the Bush has a very high tax cut of the wealthy is would show the liberal thinking for the writer. Gore the understood liberal was praised for pointing that figure out. Politics have not changed very much since the 19th century but the faces of opinion have changed, now liberal and conservative try to convince the people that they are working in your best interest.
