Workforce diversity means similarities and differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background, physical abilities, race and gender.

The following are how I can manage my employees

Firstly, I will acknowledge and respect cultural difference: that is addressing the existence of diverse cultural background within the team and the necessity of navigation those differences in order to optimize team performance.

Secondly, Establishing norms for the team. This key is simply to get everyone to contribute to the formation of the norms, that is setting rules in the organization to help team work.

Corporate Social Responsibility(C.S.R) is defined as the type of international private business self-regulation that aims to contribute to societal goals of charitable nature by engaging in or supporting volunteering or ethically-oriented practices.

The following are the factors the propel them to engage in CRS.

  1. Moral Obligation: The companies engage in C.S.R because they believe it is their duty to be a good citizen and “do the right thing”.
  2. For Reputation: Most companies uses C.S.R to improve the reputation and company image to strengthen the brand, in order to demonstrate moral and it is because it could even raise the company’s stock value. Example is MTN.

operate: Many companies only engage in CSR because they are forced to do since they need to follow regulations and permission from governments,communities and other stakeholders to be able to operate or conduct business.

  • Decreased operation costs: Many companies describe that CSR activities results in decreased operating costs and increased revenue. A company can for example reduces costs for marketing campaigns, as it is common that the company gains free publicity as a results of their CSR engagement. Examples of companies are MTN, Access bank and other institutions.
  •   For sustainability: Many companies focuses on the environment and community stewardship with the belief that it is the best for the company in the long run. This simply means it help the company to keep run as a business because it makes the people benefit purchase the company’s products as a symbol of trust.

    • Utilitarian Theory: This is a theory that focuses on the results or the consequences of ones action.
