The Energy Audit proposal is an inspection, survey, and analysis of energy flows in a building, process, or system aimed at reducing the energy input without negatively affecting the output(s) in order to achieve energy conservation. This audit seeks to identify opportunities for financial savings by eliminating wasteful use of electricity, coal, and fuel oil while maintaining the quality of the product or process.
Implementation of an Energy Audit has shown that it is possible to optimize Energy use with better housekeeping practices, low-cost retrofitting measures, and energy-efficient equipment replacement, renovation, or upgrades. This results in energy savings of between 5 to 20%, potentially yielding significant financial benefits.
Electrical power is the lifeblood of modern industrial and information societies. It is integral to powering different aspects of modern living such as light, propulsion, hea
...t, refrigeration, as well as powering our information and telecommunications systems, transport systems, modern medicine, and the economy. Alongside these important uses, energy consumption per capita is a key indicator of a citizen's quality of life and societal prosperity for communities. The depletion of energy sources can have severe negative impacts, so optimization through an Energy Audit is vital for sustainable progress.
Despite claims and promises from successive governments, Pakistan has failed to devise effective solutions to address the nation's energy needs. This has resulted in significant constraints on economic, industrial, and social growth, due to a widening gap between energy supply and demand. While long-term energy generation solutions are needed, immediate conservation measures are crucial. One such measure is through Energy audit. As a public utility company, HESCO provides electricity to the Sindh province (excluding Karach
and parts of Thatta), having been established in 1998 under the Companies Ordinance 1984. My research focuses on conducting an Energy Audit for a particular industry within HESCO's Hyderabad Circle-I, which covers 5 divisions and 22 sub-divisions.
